The Abu Dhabi Police called upon the public to abide by traffic laws and public safety regulations during the Al Ain Air Championship 2015 (formerly known as Al Ain Aerobatic Show), in order to avoid accidents and preserve everyone’s safety.
Colonel Mohammed Suhail Al Rashidi, Director of Al Ain Police Directorate, said that the directorate is implementing a comprehensive security and traffic plan during the championship, which commenced today at the Al Ain International Airport. The plan falls in line with the strategy of Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, which calls for enhancing communication and interaction with partners, community members and institutions. He also praised the cooperation with Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority.
Colonel Al Rashidi emphasized the directorate’s commitment to maintain security and safety to guarantee the comfort and well-being of all visitors to the event, which is the most important aerobatic event of its kind in the region. “The event has achieved success and popularity and attracts a significant number of visitors of all ages and nationalities, which enhance the reputation of the city of Al Ain as a preferred tourist destination in the region.
For his part, Lt. Colonel Salah Abdullah Al Hemairi, Chief of the Al Ain Traffic section, called upon individuals not to hesitate to report any irregularity or violation. He also urged them to comply with traffic instructions to preserve their safety and the safety of others.
As a part of the plan, police patrols were deployed across the city of Al Ain to prevent traffic congestion that may occur due to increased numbers of motorists on the roads, reduce negative behaviors by some drivers, and control the roads with high efficiency. “Police patrols are deployed on all routes leading up to and from the event’s venue at Al Ain International Airport to ensure safety for all,” he said.
