The Ministry of Interior’s council, hosted by UAE national Mohammed bin Bakhit El Ketbi in Al Ain, discussed the “Role of National Service and its Impact on Personal Development”. The council is part of a series of awareness councils organized by the Law Respect Culture Bureau, in cooperation with the Security Media Department at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
The host of the council, Mohammed Bakhit Al Ketbi, stressed that national service is one of the most important topics that is addressed by the councils. “National service nurtures the concept of positive patriotism amongst future generations. It represents an honorable way to reflect the importance of embodying the values of loyalty and giving back to the homeland,” he said.
The council, moderated by media figure Rashid Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Head of the Al Khaleej Newspaper Office in Al Ain, included speakers who emphasized that belonging to the homeland is an act of sincere love, loyalty, and sacrifice. The attendees highlighted that national service contributes to the personal development of the recruits who rightfully defend the national gains in order to further enhance the status of the UAE.
For his part, Major Nasser Obaid Al Khaili, from the Federal National and Reserve Service at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, reviewed the ministerial resolution regarding the organization of the national and reserve service in the Ministry of the Interior. “This resolution determines the controls for training the recruits,” he said. Moreover, he introduced the Federal Law No. (6) of 2014, regarding the national and reserve service in order to acquaint the attendees with its provisions, regulations, decisions, instructions for implementation, and its objectives. He highlighted the major role of national service in the personal development of the recruit through imparting distinguished knowledge and skills, in order to enhance the status of the UAE in regional and international arenas.
First Lieutenant Saif Mohammed Bin Saif, from the Federal National and Reserve Service, pointed out that Ministry of Interior has focused within the recruit training on many issues, including positive patriotism. “A number of competent and qualified lecturers taught the curriculum in accordance with the approved time plan,” he explained.
Towards the end of the council, Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Hammoud Saaed Al Affari, Deputy Director of Law Respect Culture Bureau, honored Mohammed bin Bakhit Al Ketbi for hosting the council and presented him with a certificate of honor and a commemorative shield.
