Lieutenant General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, recently honored several departments at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters for acquiring the "ISO 14001” certification for Environmental Management Systems and the "OHSAS 18001” certification for Occupational Health and Safety.
The police departments that were honored included the Capital Police, the Police of the Peripheral Areas Department, Al Ain Police, the Western Region Police, the Traffic and Patrols Department, the Criminal Investigations Department of the General Directorate of the Police Operations. The General Directors of Directorates and Departments who received the certificates from His Highness were: Brigadier Engineer Hussain Ahmad Al Harthi, Director of Traffic and Patrol Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police; Brigadier Maktoum Al Sharifi, Director of the Capital Police Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ; Brigadier Hamad Ajlan Al Amimi, Director of the Al Ain Police Directorate; Colonel Sheikh Mohammad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Director of Peripheral Regions Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police; Colonel Ojeil Al Juneibi, Police Chief of the Western Region in Abu Dhabi; Colonel Dr. Rashid Mohammad Borshid, Head of the Criminal Investigation Department. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior extended his congratulations to the Police Departments and Directorates for their achievement which is considered a big step forward for the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters. His Highness urged the officers, the commissioned officers and the individuals to continue their journey of being unique, realizing the aspirations of the community, and promoting their faith in the police force because they are able to maintain stability and security. Major General Mohammed bin Al Awadhi Al Menhali, Director General of Police Operations at Abu Dhabi Police emphasized Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters’ commitment to achieving Abu Dhabi’s goals by attending to environmental, health, and safety issues. Al Menhali said: "The certified departments and directorates have successfully passed the inspection process of the accredited international authority.” He promised the Higher Leadership that the police force will continue to do well, and will continue to adhere to the highest quality standards, which distinguish the Abu Dhabi Police.
