Beating the Police Operations team in the Finals

The Capital Police Directorate football team was crowned champion of the Director General’s Championship.  The team received the cup after defeating the General Directorate of Police Operations’ team 7-6 in the penalty shoot-out following a tied game 3-3.  The final match was held at the Police Officers’ Club Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Several teams took part in the championship, organized by the Sports Committee at the Capital Police Directorate. In a touching emotional scene, the Tourism Police Section at Abu Dhabi Police succeeded in reuniting an Arab family whose members were separated for ten years. The reunion happened within 24 hours of the police receiving a phone call from an Arab embassy in the UAE, saying that N.S, a 25 year old, and her sister, A.S, a 23 year old, had arrived to search for their relatives whom they did not have any contact with for ten years.

The two girls had failed to locate their relatives, which forced them to contact their embassy in order for them to help them in their search. The embassy, in turn, informed the Abu Dhabi Police.
