A delegation from the Norwegian Police recently visited the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ to review the workflow of the Capital Police Department. The delegation included Major General Ron Karlsen, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Norway Police and Brigadier General Jan M. Gutermann, Director of the Mobile Unit at the Traffic and Patrols Directorate.
Colonel Rashid Mubarak Al Mesmari, Deputy Director of the Capital Police Directorate had met the delegation in his office, and gave them an overview of the Directorate’s various tasks and duties. Discussion also tackled ways of strengthening cooperation between both parties in exchanging experiences and areas of mutual interest. .
Moreover, Colonel Al Mesmari listened to a presentation by Major General Ron Karlsen on organizational structures, as well as on the work methodology of the search and investigation departments. It is noteworthy that both parties discussed a number of topics relevant to the nature of police and security work.
The Norwegian delegation, accompanied by Colonel Rashid Al Mesmari, visited the Khalidiya Police Station affiliated to the Capital Police Directorate, and toured the Station’s sections. Moreover, Lt. Colonel Muslim Mohammed Al Ameri, head of the Khalidiya Police Station, briefed the visiting Norwegian delegation on the investigation departments’ work mechanisms adopted by the various police stations at the Capital Police Directorate. Al Amri also gave an overview on the Khalidiya Police’s jurisdiction, the tasks of the Station’s branches, and the latest methods used in the search and investigation processes, as well as the equipment available at the Station.
At the end of the visit, the Deputy Director of the Capital Police Directorate exchanged commemorative shields with the Norwegian police delegation, expressing his thanks for this visit.
Notably, the visit comes in line with the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ’s strategy to exchange experiences and leverage developed countries’ expertise in the fight against crime; as well as review the latest methods used in this area.
