Dubai, United Arab Emirates -Sunday, January 15th 2017 [ ME NewsWire ]
Expo 2020 Dubai today delivered the first public roll-out of its USD 100 million Expo Live programme to help fund, accelerate and promote creative projects that will improve lives while preserving our planet.
Organisers stressed that they have no prior expectations of where successful proposals will emerge from, understanding that innovative solutions for everyone can come from anywhere.
Expo Live will deploy a combination of programmes, challenges and knowledge-sharing events in the run-up to the 2020 World Expo, focusing on the universal drivers of progress - Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability – which are key themes to Expo 2020 Dubai.
The programmes include the Innovation Impact Grants, Innovation and Best Practice Exposure Grants, Innovation Challenges and the Youth Programme.
The Innovation Impact Grants – the flagship programme of Expo Live – is the first to open its 2017 biannual Call for Proposals starting today for 60 days until 15 March 2017.
Expo Live will be the next great programme in the storied history of World Expos to serve as a catalysts for innovation and progress, as it will help to empower problem solvers from the region and wider world through the funding, acceleration and promotion of creative solutions to global challenges.
Furthermore, the open and inclusive nature of Expo Live demonstrates the inclusivity of World Expos, as it is open to individuals and organisations from around the world, regardless of their background, resources or social status.
Applicants with demonstrable projects are invited to complete the registration process on www.expo2020dubai.ae/expolive and submit a short abstract explaining the challenge they are tackling, and the solution they propose.
