The Ministry of the Interior has activated the vehicles mortgage and mortgage release services via an integrated e-system, as of October.
Lt. Colonel Faisal Mohammed Al Shimmari, Executive Director of the Smart Government at the Ministry of Interior, said that the smart e-system set up by the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department’s services and other smart services provided by the Ministry of Interior, aim to boost customer satisfaction, reinforce community members’ confidence, increase the usage rate of smart services to 80 per cent by 2018, focus more on the quality of services, and increase users’ awareness about the importance and role of smart services in streamlining access to transactions and completing procedures.
Lt. Colonel Al Shimmari stressed the Ministry of Interior keenness to conduct periodic assessments of the operational efficiency of the E-Services, in accordance with the smart government transformation standards. It also sees to the implementation of elaborate plans to develop and improve services by adopting the best international standards; and to acquaint customers with the new advanced service projects that will help save time and effort.
He pointed out that the Ministry’s participation in GITEX 2015 has been an opportunity to leverage the advantages offered by the exhibition, to allow participating partners from various government agencies and major international companies to promote the wide array of e-services provided by the Ministry to customers. Moreover, he praised the cooperation of the different media channels and social media platforms in streamlining access to the services in a multi-language smart and easy way; in addition to developing services performance measurement indicators, in accordance with the government standards and various service delivery channels.
For his part, Lieutenant Colonel Saif Hamad Al Zaabi, Team Leader of the Development of Electronic Services at the Ministry of Interior, noted that Vehicles mortgage and mortgage release service is a new e–services, provided after setting up an electronic linking between banks, financial firms and corporate houses at the countrywide level, and the federal traffic and licensing system. Lt. Colonel Al Zaabi said that the transactions are completed according to sophisticated and smart and modern mechanism, therefore minimizing the paperwork. He also noted that the Ministry of Interior's website www.moi.gov.ae and the Ministry’s smart application UAE-MOI have played a significant role in relieving pressure on service centers and ensuring quick completion of transactions.
It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Interior, via its various departments and authorities, has achieved an important milestone in developing E-Services and transforming strategic plans into executive annual plans, in order to provide smart services to customers 24/7 via the various channels. The Ministry has further pursued its electronic traffic linking process by developing the federal traffic and licensing system, so as to speed up the completion of customers’ transactions online anytime, anywhere, without having to visit the service center to obtain a driver's license or property deed or residence permit. The system has also accelerated the completion of transactions between police general headquarters across the country. Furthermore, the e-linking operation was achieved with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai, traffic system was unified.
