According to Colonel Sultan Suwayeh Al Darmaki, Chief of the Anti-Drug Section at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), the Abu Dhabi Police managed to arrest a Pakistani driver and seize 532 narcotic pills that he intended to sell in the city of Al Ain.
He noted that the suspect recently tried to sell the drugs, but the teams affiliated with the Anti-Drug Section at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) managed to thwart the operation and promptly arrest the suspect.
Elaborating on the details of the operation, Colonel Al Darmaki explained that the department had received information about an individual who is in possession of a stash of narcotic pills with the intent to sell and promote. He said: “A professional team from the Anti-Drug Section was formed and a plan was established to guarantee the arrest of the culprit and the seizure of the drugs.”
Colonel Al Darmaki noted that following extensive investigation of the received tip, the team managed to locate and arrest the 28-year old suspect, identified as ‘S. D. D’. “The suspect was placed under tight surveillance by the team members, until they managed to catch him in ambush in the city of Al Ain. The suspect was seized in possession of 11 rolls of plastic containing narcotic pills, in addition to 43 other rolls hidden in his vehicle; a total of 532 narcotic pills,” he continued.
Colonel Al Darmaki noted that the culprit, who works as a private driver, confessed during investigation having acquired the drug stash with the intent to sell it and make illegal profits. In conclusion, he said that the suspect was referred to the competent authorities for further investigation into the circumstances of the case and for the appropriate legal actions.
