Tracked and arrested the reckless driver
Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates - Tuesday, September 8th 2015 [ME NewsWire]
The Abu Dhabi Police condemned the objectionable behavior of 24-year old UAE citizen, identified as A.S., who was driving recklessly “intentionally making loud noises” in a European country, stressing that such behavior undermines the reputation of the UAE and its citizens known for civilized behavior and compliance with rules and regulations, a feature that makes their country proud, wherever they go.
Brigadier Eng. Hussein Ahmed Al Harithi, Director General of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police, said that the Traffic Investigation Section at the Traffic and Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police, which keeps track of negative phenomena, inside the UAE and abroad, took notice of a video, which has been circulating across social media platforms, showing the young man recklessly performing stunts and “intentionally making loud noises with his car on the road in an European country. The video also displayed the vehicle’s license plate which belonged to one of the UAE’s emirates. Immediately, the department formed an investigation team to identify the vehicle’s driver, who was ultimately arrested as he returned from vacation, and referred him to the competent authorities.
Brigadier Al Harithi added that young man has earlier precedents and has been fined several times for driving at more than 200 km/h in the city of Al Ain earlier this year. He stressed that Abu Dhabi Police will show no leniency towards those who violate the law or undermine the country's reputation. He also denounced such behaviors, which are alien to the society, by which the young man tried to impress, without taking into account the UAE, which enjoys one of the best standings in the world when it comes to reputation.
