Abu Dhabi Police and US Department of Homeland Security Discuss Cooperative Training

The discourse of discussions between the Abu Dhabi Police and the US Department of Homeland Security focused on ways to enhance the areas of police cooperation and coordinate trainings between the two parties.

A delegation from the United States of America, headed by Kathy Kraninger, Clerk for the Subcommittee on Homeland Security of the US Senate Appropriations Committee, recently visited the Abu Dhabi Police Training Department. The delegation was received by Colonel Thani Butti Al Shamesi, Head of the Training Department at Abu Dhabi Police.

During the visits, which were dedicated to the exchange of information, expertise, and methodologies; both parties learned of the others’ techniques and training methods alongside the mechanisms used to implement modern technology within the policing systems.

The meeting was attended by Lieutenant Colonel Saleh Saeed Al Amoudi, International Cooperation Training Branch Manager at the Training Department at Abu Dhabi Police. The visiting delegation included Peter Bob, representative of the US Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security, and a number of employees from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Bill Rutton, a liaison officer for the Department of Homeland Security at the U.S Embassy in the UAE, also attended the meeting.

At the end of the meeting, Colonel Thani Al Shamesi presented Kathy Kraninger with a commemorative shield.
