Winners of the Minister of Interior’s Excellence Awards Dedicate their Achievements to the Community

The winners of the third edition of the Minister of Interior’s Excellence Awards have announced that their achievements and success are dedicated to the citizens, residents, and visitors of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). As a promise to the nation’s higher leadership and to Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, the recipients of the award vowed to continue their march of excellence and achievement in order to achieve further results that are befitting of the UAE’s level of progress, prosperity, and stability.
Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior, said that such significant results were made possible only through the support of His Highness, the Minister of Interior, and through the confidence of the public. As a gesture of gratefulness for such support, he added that the country should continue to endeavor to obtain further achievements.
He expressed his confidence in the ability of the Ministry’s male and female staff members to meet the aspirations of a brighter tomorrow, and to efficiently perform the tasks and duties that have been entrusted to them. “We are keen to take such steps in order to preserve the leading status of the UAE Ministry of Interior as one of the most modern, innovative, and advanced ministries in the region and the world at large,” he said.
Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Acting Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs, noted that the awards achieve the vision of the Ministry in the security field as per its strategic plan. The awards motivate both individuals and team members to work in a competitive way that contributes to the advancement and elevation of police and security work as per the standards of quality and excellence.
He added that the awards aid the development and skills of new generations of commissioned and non-commissioned officers in the areas covered by the awards, and the areas related to their arbitration and evaluation processes. He pointed to the commitment and continuous atmosphere of learning that has been spread amongst arbitrators and evaluators of the awards in all sectors for police recruits. This is due to their close work with experts and neutral arbitrators that were chosen by the Minister of Interior’s Excellence Award Committee. He also noted the excellent work that had been undertaken by the officers, which included the supervision and assessment of their units and internal departments. He said that this work marks the police work methodology in the Ministry.
Major General Khamis Matar Al Muzainah, Commander General of the Dubai Police, stressed that the award exemplifies the Ministry’s strategy and the aspirations of the higher police leadership that aims to: encourage excellence and innovation, develop a positive attitude among the public, encourage the public to adhere to the law and public safety norms, and to promote cooperation between the police and all segments of the society.

He valued the efforts of the police leadership of the UAE, the distinguished work teams, and the distinguished and creative individuals who won the awards and received this prestigious honoring. He said that the recipients of the award have contributed in achieving the goals of the Ministry. He praised their enthusiasm and creative initiatives that drive the process of innovation through integrated performance that contributes to sustainable institutional development. He said that this leads to high quality, excellence; and the achievement of strategic objectives that aim to enhance security and safety, ensure readiness, maintain public confidence, and invest in human resources. Brigadier Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of RAK Police, expressed his deepest gratitude to Lt. Brigadier Mohammed Ahmed bin Ghanim Al Kaabi, Commander-in-Chief of Fujairah Police, said that the winning the Distinguished Security Area Award by Al Fujairah Police recognizes the dedicated and sincere efforts made by all staff in the police headquarters with the aim to serve the country.
He said that the Minister of Interior’s Excellence Award is not just an award to motivate employees in the police service, but is one of the most important tools that support various police agencies. He continued that it enables them to renew and optimize services in order to deliver such services to the parties that need them at all sectors of the Ministry at the earliest.
He added that without the support of higher police leadership it would not have been possible to achieve this success. Brigadier Sheikh Sultan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ajman Police; said that winning the Distinguished Management Award is a result of the sincere efforts made by different police staff members and their sense of responsibility towards the tasks they implement to meet the criteria of the awards. He added that this was reflected in winning the price that is considered a part of creative initiatives at the UAE level. Major General Khalil Dawood Badran, Director General of Finance and Services and Chairman of the Green Applications Higher Committee in the Ministry of Interior, said after receiving the Green Applications Award that the award helped in creating a qualitative move of the Ministry’s excellence level. He explained that winning the award is the result of the efforts made by the Abu Dhabi Police in the fields of safety, Health and Environment in line with the police’s commitment to adopt the environment excellence award as a general practice, maintain the external environment, and provide an internal healthy environment for staff members in the general headquarters.
He stressed that Abu Dhabi Police seeks to motivate and encourage general directorates at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters to adopt the best environment solutions and green applications with the aim to maintain a sustainable environment that contributes in elevating the standards of life in the UAE in line with the UAE Vision 2021.
Brigadier Sheikh Mohammed bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Director General of Security and Ports Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police said that winning the Crime Scene Award, the Information and Knowledge Management Award, the Distinguished External Joint Team Award and the Distinguished Comprehensive Police Station Award won by Al Rahba Police Station doesn’t only motivate staff members, but it promotes the efforts of spreading the quality and excellence award in both local and federal sectors. He noted that this is achieved by implementing the best global practices and to keep pace with latest developments with the aim to develop the work environment. Brigadier Eng. Hussein Ahmed Al Harithi, Director General of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police after the Abu Dhabi Police won the Distinguished Technical/Tactical Team Award, E-Excellence Award and the Distinguished Service Development Team, stressed that this win comes to crown the efforts of the Abu Dhabi Police and the Central Operations General Department in implementing the latest contemporary applications and the optimal utilization of the latest technologies to develop work system and elevate the level of the services provided to the public.
He explained that the Abu Dhabi Police adopted various technical projects to help reduce the levels of traffic accidents in general and the fatalities in particular. He pointed to the success of the initiatives in reducing the fatalities of run-over accidents by 52.5% in three years from the beginning of 2011 till the end of 2013, to reach the best international practices. He added that the Minister of Interior’s Excellence Award motivates the employees, and promotes the spirit of creativity and innovation. It also encourages citizens to adopt the ideas and suggestions in work development, and it helps spread the culture of quality and excellence.
Colonel Mohammed Hamid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Strategy and Performance Development Director General, the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior stressed that the Abu Dhabi Police winning the Best Productivity Measurement Entity Award, and Best Benchmarking Entity, comes due to the support of our leadership for excellence. Colonel Mubarak Awadh Mubarak bin Muhairom Al Ameri, Director General of Community Protection and Crime Prevention at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Director General of Department of Community Police at the Abu Dhabi Police, explained after receiving the Partnership Management Award, that this achievement of winning the award for the third consecutive time reflects the importance of building true partnerships, which promote the cohesion between the governmental institutions and police bodies and the society. The Winners: the Award Motivates Innovation
The winners of the Occupational Awards, in the 3rd edition of the Minister of Interior’s Excellence Award, expressed their pride in winning the award, which motivates them to innovate and double the efforts in the march of excellent work.
Mohamed Mohamed Fadel Al Hameli, Secretary-General of Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs, winner of the Community Service Award of the External Awards for the Distinguished Partners of the MoI, expressed his pride of winning the award. He stressed the depth of strategic relationship between Zayed Highed Organization and the ministry, which helped promote and protect a precious segment of our society. He added that the award is a motivation to develop the partnership for the good of the community to achieve the mutual strategic objectives.

Colonel Dr. Khalid Hamad Al Hamadi, Head of the Training Institute Department at the Sharjah Police, winner of the Best Officer at the Specialized Level Award, said that the award is a medal for the winners and a motivation for everyone. It organizes the work with accurate productivity-related standards. Col. Al Hamadi has many achievements and published studies, awareness books for children, and he is the founder of the security education directed for students, which benefited more than 54,000 students.
Colonel Thani Butti Al Shamesi, Head of the Training Department at Abu Dhabi Police, winner of the Best Officer at the Leadership Level Award, said that winning first place in the award comes to crown years of hard work based on the strategy of innovation and creativity.

Major Hassan Ali Muthanna Al Harbi, Chief of the Electronic Auditing and Information Security Section at the Electronics and Telecommunications Services General Department, Human Resources and Support Services Sector at the Ministry of Interior, after winning the Best Officer at the Tactical/Technical/Engineering Levels Award, stressed that the award helped motivate the corporate work at the Ministry of Interior. Engineer Adnan Saleh Lanjawi from the Dubai Police General Headquarters, winner of the Best New Civilian Staff Member Award, said that the award creates a positive work environment for the employee, to develop him in an optimal manner. He pointed that his win wouldn’t be possible without the support of the Forensic Evidence and Criminology General Department at the Dubai Police, which helped him reach the level of excellence. He also mentioned that the award will give the staff of the MoI more responsibilities to realize more achievements.
First Lieutenant Mariam Darwish Al Hashmi from the Fujairah Police General Headquarters, winner of the Best Officer at the Field Level Award, reiterated that winning the award is a historical moment in her life. She explained that the honoring is a message to the staff of the MoI and to all those who give their best efforts to serve the country.
First Lieutenant Mohammed Abdul Karim Murad, Chief of the Strategic Planning at the Strategy and Performance Development Department, Umm Al-Quwain Police General Headquarters, considered that the Best Officer at the Supervision Level Award is a motivation to develop the innovation of employees, departments and work teams towards more hard work to elevate the police work system. Family and Social Excellence
Captain Taghreed Mohamed Saif from the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, winner of the Perfect Mother Award, said that winning the award comes as a crowning of the support provided by the higher police leadership, and its ongoing keenness to pay attention to the police staff and encourage them to double their efforts. She reiterated that her professional success is her campus in raising her children on the values of success and distinction.
She added that the Perfect Mother Award is based on three standards: the perfect employee standards, the family excellence standard and the social excellence standard. They expand to include all the members of the family. She dedicated her win to her husband and her children, her partners in success.
Innovation and Creativity.
Amirah Abdulrahman Balhaj Al Marashda from the Fujairah Police General Headquarters, winner of the first place in the Innovation and Creativity Award, said that the award helps to promote the spirit of innovation and creativity, and encourages the national staff members to adopt the ideas and suggestions in developing their work, and always give the best. She expressed her pride along with her colleagues Hind Juma’a Al Kendi and Moza Suhail Al Samahi, of winning the award and thier participation with a study entitled “Child protection system from suffocation inside vehicles” that enabled them to win.
Serving the Country
Dr. Mariam Ahmed Al Shabibi from the General Department of Human Resources at the Dubai Police General Headquarters expressed her pride of winning the first place of the Best Civilian Staff Member at the Administrative Level Award. She mentioned that the award is a motivation to double the efforts, and continuously strive for excellence. She stressed that her win was not baseless but came due to the support of the police command, which believes in the capabilities of the female staff, and their role in promoting the rise of the country along with the male staff.
First Warrant Officer Aisha Saeed Al Naqbi, from the Finance and Services General Department at the Abu Dhabi Police, expressed her happiness about winning the Best Non-Commissioned Officer and Constable at the Tactical/Technical/Engineering Levels Award. She pointed that the award encourage the staff to adopt the ideas and suggestion to develop the work and helps spread the culture of quality and excellence.
Widad Saeed Al Tunaiji from the Naturalization, Residency and Ports General Department in RAK, winner of the first place in the Best Civilian Staff Member at the Specialized Level Award, said that he win is a reflection of the vision of the Naturalization and Residency sector to foster creativity as an important element in providing excellent customer services. She pointed that the awards, since its inception helped spread and promote the culture of quality and excellence.
Nader Ibrahim Al Issa from the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, winner of the Best Civilian Staff Member at the Field Level Award, explained that the award motivates just competition between the staff. He pointed that he personally submitted more than 30 initiatives, most of them were implemented. More than 25,000 people benefited from the lectures he gave in 2014.

The Distinguished Management Award, won by the Ajman Police General headquarters. The award was received by Brigadier Sheikh Sultan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ajman Police. This award is given to the excellent sector or command, which is distinguished in the development and the implementation of clear strategic plans and highly qualified human resources, and works through integrated processes to achieve the goals of the sector or the command. The Distinguished Security Area Award (Al Fujairah Security Area), won by the Fujairah Police General Headquarters. The award was received by Brigadier Mohammed Ahmed bin Ghanim Al Kaabi, Commander-in-Chief of Fujairah Police. This award is granted to the distinguished security area, which is distinguished in the development and the implementation of clear mutual strategic plans and highly qualified human resources and works through integrated processes to achieve the goals of the area and the effective communication. It also presents positive results during the past years and seeks to implement the best international practices.
The Best Security Authority Award won by the Dubai Police General Headquarters. Major General Khamis Matar Al Muzainah, Commander General of the Dubai Police. This award is given to the distinguished command in the security field.
The Distinguished Comprehensive Police Station Award won by the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters (Al Rahba Police Station). The award was received by Major General Omair Muhammad Al Muhairi, Director General of Police Operations at Abu Dhabi Police; and Brigadier Sheikh Mohammed bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Director General of Security and Ports Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police. The award is granted to comprehensive police stations that excel in developing and implementing a clear strategic plan and highly efficient human resources. They should accomplish this through coherent security operations that achieve the goals of the station in the area under its jurisdiction, and reflect positive results through the past years, in addition to seeking the implementation of the best global practices to achieve levels which reflect the satisfaction of all segments of customers.
The Ports Security Award (land, sea, air) won by Dubai International Airport, Major General Pilot Ahmed bin Thani, Deputy Commander-in-Chief for ports affairs at Dubai Police. This award is granted to the land, sea and air responsible of providing security services for passengers, passports and customs services, which are achieved by implementing the latest policies and work methods, in accordance to the best international practices.
The Crime Scene Award won by the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters. The award was received by Brigadier Sheikh Mohammed bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Director General of Security and Ports Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police and Lt. Colonel Salem Al Dir’e, Director of Crime Scene Department. The award is granted to organizational units concerned with crime scenes to support and achieve strategic goals, and to implement mechanisms and methodologies through the best local and international practices in collecting evidences and providing results.
The Strategic Development Award was awarded to the Ajman Police General Headquarters and received by Brigadier Sheikh Sultan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ajman Police and Colonel Abdullah Ahmad Al Hamrani, Deputy Chief of Ajman Police. This award was given in recognition of the high standards and indicators of performance in uplifting the level of police work.
The Best Productivity Measurement Entity Award was awarded to the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters and received by Colonel Faisal Sultan Nasser Salem Al Shuaibi, Deputy Director General of Strategy and Performance Development and Major Bashar Khalil Badran, Head of the Human Resources Planning Department. This award recognizes the efforts of developing, rehabilitating, training, and improving the efficiency of human resources.
The Best Customer Services Center Award was awarded to the Dubai Police General Headquarters (Bur Dubai Police Station). It was received by Major-General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police for Criminal Investigation. The award is dedicated to the excellent customer service center (in the organizational structure of department, section, and Center) that has a dedicated customer area (customer waiting hall) and provides services five days a week with at least two open counters. The center’s management should be working on establishing strategic plans of developing services in order to sustain the center’s success and to gain the customer’s trust. The center should also be designing and implementing initiatives that result in providing excellent services, as employees engage in the processes of creating innovative work procedures.
The Partnership Management Award was awarded to the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters. It was received by Major General Mohammed bin Al Awadhi Al Menhali, Acting Assistant Undersecretary of Resources and Support Services at the Ministry of Interior, and Colonel Mubarak Awadh Mubarak bin Muhairom, Director General of Community Protection and Crime Prevention. The award is granted to the sector or the headquarters that excel in managing its partnerships with other entities as per clear and transparent mechanisms, methodologies and standards.
The Human Resources Satisfaction Award was awarded to the Ajman Police General Headquarters and received by Brigadier Sheikh Sultan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ajman Police, and Brigadier Omar Abdul Aziz Al Shamsi, Director General of Resources and Support Services. The award is granted to the entity that achieves the best results in human resources standards and index results in the sector of the award designated for outstanding leadership nominees.
The Green Applications Award was awarded to the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters. The award was received by Major General Khalil Dawood Badran, Director General of Finance and Services; and Colonel Faisal Sultan Al Shuaibi, Head Director of Strategy and Performance Development. The award is granted for exemplary commitment of federal entities to policies that aim to improve environmental performance; reduce the consumption of resources in the federal entities’ activities; achieve the objectives of UAE’s strategy of Green Development; adopt precise standards that include leadership and planning; manage the resources, companies and operations; follow up with the results of the entity concerned with assessment of the level of implementation of the UAE’s strategy of Green Development.
The Planning and Performance Management Award was awarded to the Dubai Police General Headquarters and received by Colonel Sheikh Mohamed Abdullah Al Mualla, Director General of Total Quality. The award is granted to a sector or headquarters that excel in the leadership, development, and support of the implementation of corporate performance systems. They must additionally highlight the positive results throughout the previous years, and strive to implement the best international practices and applications in planning and performance management fields.

The Best Traffic Entity Award was awarded to the Dubai Police General Headquarters and received by Major General Expert Khamis Matar Al Muzainah, Commander General of the Dubai Police. The award is granted to the excellent traffic headquarters that ensures all traffic efficiency-related issues within its jurisdiction have been addressed, including indicators of traffic fatalities rates per 100,000 people, and traffic accidents rate.
The Best Benchmarking Entity was awarded to the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters and received by Major Rashid Abdullah Al Dosari, Head of the Secretariat of the Institutional Excellence Department.
