A delegation from the Security Scenarios Department at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior recently visited the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) at the United States of America (USA). The delegation, headed by Major Dr. Saif Salem Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Director of Security Scenarios Department to examine LAPD experience and methodologies in security training and planning.
The delegation met Horace Frank, Commander-Assistant of Counter-Terrorism and Emergency Operations at the LAPD Headquarters. In a lecture delivered by Captain Philip Fontanetta, Commanding Officer of the Emergency Operations Division, the delegation was briefed about the methods of security scenarios preparation and practical implementation.
After that, the delegation reviewed the virtual training plans and programs. At the end of the visit, the delegation toured the special training facilities at the LAPD.
It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Interior is keen to foster cooperation on policing and security matters with developed countries in order to exchange expertise of mutual interest and enhance efforts of promoting security and stability in the society. This falls within the framework of the Ministry’s efforts to lead that UAE to become among the safest and most secured countries worldwide.
