As Part of the Seventh Knowledge Forum

During the seventh Knowledge Forum, the Abu Dhabi Police reviewed the US experience related to case studies and research to tackle security issues. The forum, which was held at the Forensic Evidence Hall, was recently inaugurated by Major General Dr. Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
H.E the Secretary General said that the forum reflects the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters’ vision, which aims to ensure that Abu Dhabi remains a community that enjoys safety and security, and to provide high-quality police services for the citizens, residents and visitors of the emirate. He also reiterated the keenness to invite skilled speakers, specialized in security events that are of global concern in order to benefit from their practical expertise.
Major General Dr. Al Nuaimi stressed the importance of analyzing events and police practices to promote institutional learning and avail of the lessons acquired during the development and improvement processes. “This approach would ensure social security and safety, promote forward thinking, keep pace with information technology developments and build strong relations between the police leaders and the media.
Chuck Wexler, Executive Director of the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF), gave a presentation showcasing the US experience. He highlighted a number of specialized security topics, and the role of the social media in spreading information to the largest targeted segment.
Towards the end of the forum, Major General Dr. Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi offered a signed copy of his book “Management of Change” to the Executive Director of the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF).
It is worth mentioning that the Knowledge Forums to exchange knowledge and innovative ideas that are organized by the Knowledge Center at the Strategy and Performance Development Department aim to spread the culture of knowledge across all sectors, through the implementation of the best practice. They also represent the perfect opportunity to discuss and review the distinguished experiences and to share and develop knowledge.
