Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates - Thursday, May 21st 2015 [ME NewsWire]
The Police College organized a two-day blood drive in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Blood Bank. The drive witnessed a significant turnout from the officers, non-commissioned officers, and civilian personnel of the Police College in Abu Dhabi.
Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Butti Al Shamesi, head of the Media and Public Relations Section at the Police College, said: “This blood drive comes within the strategy of the Police College, which embodies the strategy of the Ministry of Interior in the sense that it serves the local community.” He continued by highlighting how the drive was made possible through the support provided by the college administration in a bid to help patients in need of a blood transfusion, to help preserve lives, and to contribute to humanitarian activities within the UAE.
“The administration of the Police College is keen to contribute to serving the local community, to promote community involvement, and to spread the culture of health amongst the personnel,” said Lieutenant Colonel Al Shamesi.
