Recognized for Spreading Creative Work Culture

The Sea of Culture Foundation awarded the Security Media Department at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, the Emirates National Records Certificate. The certificate came in recognition of the Security Media Department's distinguished role is serving the UAE and spreading the creative work culture. The Security Media came first among a list of local institutions in the category of "Accomplishment and Success" within five categories defined by the organizer.
Rear Admiral and Pilot Sheikh Saeed bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Commander of the UAE Navy, awarded the certificate to Major Fawaz Ali Abdullah, Director of Security Media Department at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; and Captain Reem Subah, Acting Chief of Strategic Planning Section at the Department.
Major Fawaz Ali Abdullah, Director of Security Media Department at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, stressed that the success of his department is the result of the support and directives of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. He also expressed his pride for this recognition describing it as an additional medal for the Security Media Department achievements.
He also valued the role of the Sea of Culture Foundation and other national institutions in spreading purposeful culture and wise knowledge. He also praised the Foundation's support for innovators and creative works. Additionally he praised the role of other leading institutions in organizing excellent activities and initiatives.
It is worth mentioning that the recognition falls within the frame work of a leading national project recently launched by the Sea of Culture Foundation in collaboration with the Emirates ID Authority, and Sharjah University. The national project, known as "the Emirates National Records" aims to encourage and support individual social initiatives that serves the UAE, in addition to shedding lights on the national Emirati success achieved by the individuals and institutions across the country.
The Security Media Department and other qualified individuals and institutions were selected under the supervision of a committee of experts and academics who evaluated applications and accomplishments. The committee also set the standards and provided logistic support for the Records as it aims to register distinguished accomplishments of citizens and residents in serving the UAE and its community. The accomplishments could be inventions, contributions, innovations, or initiatives; to be honored whether individuals or groups.
The Security Media Department at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, was established in 2008. It symbolizes the vision of the police leadership and its belief in the importance of the accuracy, reliability, and transparency of the information released by the Ministry of Interior to the public through the media. The Security Media Department is the governmental communication arm of the Ministry of Interior and the Abu Dhabi Police.
Among the Department's objectives is studying the public trends and point of view regarding issues related to the Ministry of Interior and providing the media with the written, spoken, and visual content. In addition to expressing its point of view regarding media issues, setting the media policy of the MoI, and following up with the implementation of the decisions of the Security Media Higher Committee.
The Security Media Department symbolizes the Ministry of Interior’s transparent policy when dealing with community members via various media. Also to acquaint them with the ministry’s services and achievements as partners in the effort of maintaining security and stability. The Department communicates with the various society segments in three languages (English, Arabic and Urdu). It seeks to gain the confidence of members of the public, newspapers readers; social networking sites users and followers of other media, by interacting with them in a way that meets their needs and preferences.
International Awards
The Security Media Department received three international awards during the Summit Marketing Effectiveness Awards competition, granted by the organizers of the summit. The department ranked first for its F999 sports car project; the project won the Platinum Award for the "Corporate Reputation" category; it came second receiving the Silver Award in the ‘Non-Profit Entities’ category, while the Falcon Motorcycle received the Silver Award of 2012 Effective Marketing in the category "Corporate Reputation".
The Security Media Department has also obtained the Mohammed bin Rashid Government Excellence Award for the Best Practice in the government communication for three consecutive years, (2010, 2012 and 2014). The Security Media Department includes many Sections with its affiliated Branches.
It is worth mentioning that the Sea of Culture Foundation, Presided by Her Highness Sheikha Rawda bint Muhammad bin Khalid Al Nahyan was established in 2004 in Abu Dhabi. It aims to foster Arab culture and analytical and critical thinking skills, in addition to developing dialogue skills. The Foundation is active through its many cultural programs that targets Emirati innovators of men and women.
