The Ministry of Interior, represented by the Victim Affairs Office, took part in the 26th meeting of the INTERPOL Standing Committee on Disaster Victim Identification, and the accompanying conference organized in France. The UAE delegation was headed by Major Raid Ali Al Muhairi, Director of the Victim Affairs Office and representative of the United Arab Emirates at the meetings of the Steering Group on Disaster Victim Identification affiliated with the Interpol. The UAE is the only Arab permanent member in the Group.
During the conference, Major Raid Ali Al Muhairi presented a paper titled “UAE Capacity Development Mechanism in DVI Operations”. He also showcased the work mechanism adopted by the Victim Affairs Office affiliated with the Ministry of Interior and the latest developments being implemented by the Office. The conference also included a documentary film about the Victim Affairs Office.
Major Al Muhairi said: “The Victim Affairs Office seeks to achieve the goals of the Ministry of Interior’s strategic plan, and endeavors to increase readiness and preparedness in terms of the procedures and policies related to victim identification mechanisms and methods.”
