The Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters is taking part in the accompanying exhibition to the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship, now in its landmark seventh year, which also features the World Jiu-Jitsu Children’s Cup 2015. The championship, which commenced on Monday, will run until April 25 and is taking place at the IPIC Arena at the Zayed Sports City, with competitors from over 100 countries.
Colonel Mohammed Hamid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Strategy and Performance Development Director General at Abu Dhabi Police; and board member of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation said: “The significant number of quality international adult and children fighters taking part in the seventh edition of the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship is proof of the Abu Dhabi Emirate’s success and accumulated experience in hosting and organizing world-class mega global sports events”.
Adding further, Colonel Al Dhaheri said: “The Abu Dhabi Police, the official sponsor of the championship, are as always, committed to taking part in the different sports and societal events, in line with their strategy to boost communication and interaction with the various sectors and segments of society.”
The Abu Dhabi Police pavilion at the accompanying exhibition to the championship will witness the participation of the Strategy and Performance Development Directorate General, represented by the Sports Activity Section; and the Security Media Department. The participants will acquaint visitors to the exhibition with the unique Falcon bike, as well as the F999 sports car, which is considered the fastest police car in the world, and attracted people of all ages and nationalities wishing to take a picture next to the famous vehicle.
The Department of Community Police is also taking part in the exhibition, with the aim of acquainting the audience with its objectives; notably to boost social awareness among all age groups and to foster communication with all community members. The ICT Department will be showcasing its modern smart applications that are provided via the Sahel self-service machine, which enables citizens and residents to complete the procedures of renewing their vehicle registrations, pay fines and issue a replacement for lost or damaged registration cards. The MoI Child Protection Center was also keen on participating in the exhibition, with the aim of promoting social awareness, as a part of its child abuse prevention awareness campaign.
