The Directorate General of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Abu Dhabi took part in the celebrations of the UAE on the occasion of World Health Day, an event that that is marked every year on the 7th of April. This year’s celebrations were held under the slogan of ‘Food Safety’ and were organized at the building of the Directorate, in cooperation with the Medical Services Department at Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters (GHQ).
A medical team from the Medical Services Department conducted medical tests for staff members and customers alike measuring blood sugar levels, blood pressure, and body mass index (BMI). The team additionally distributed medical booklets and brochures with advice on eating fresh food, maintaining a healthy body weight, and to avoid eating foods that are high in saturated fats to avoid diabetes or diseases related to high blood pressure or from other conditions. It is worth mentioning that the organization of this event falls under the keenness of the Directorate to raise health awareness in order to preserve the health and wellbeing of the community members.
