The Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarter organizes tomorrow, Tuesday, a sports festival for disabled individuals in Khalifa Park in Abu Dhabi.
Captain Jamal Al Saadi, National Teams and Competitions Branch Manager at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ said: "the festival, organized at the UAE level for the first time, aims to increase the engagement of disabled individuals in the society and strengthen their determination by achieving sport excellence." He also noted that sports represent a goal for such individuals as they enable them to overcome obstacles and face challenges in order to realize the highest possible levels.
It is worth mentioning that the Abu Dhabi Police, in collaboration with the Abilities Development Centre for Special Needs in Abu Dhabi, have recently organized a workshop at the Police Club. The workshop shed light on the issue of "How to deal with people with special needs."
Dr. Samira Salem, Director of Abilities Development Centre for Special Needs provided an explanation on the mechanisms of dealing with disabled individuals. For her part, Dr. Fatima Hilow provided a scientific detailed explanation about the positive behaviors of disabled individuals towards the society.
