Comment from Guinness World Records on the 60th Anniversary Certificate

GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS is the universally recognised global authority on record-breaking achievement. There are presently about 40,000 records in our database. First published in 1955, the annual GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS book has gone on to become one of the best-selling titles of all time. Since the first launch, over 132 million copies - and 3 million e-books - have been sold in 20 languages, in more than 100 countries. The internationally renowned brand is also available across a number of platforms; Global television shows, YouTube channel, global website and Facebook. In England, the birthplace of GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS, the 60 anniversary carries a special significance as the Diamond Anniversary, and is marked by a special celebration. The Guinness World Records 60th Anniversary Certificate is presented to record holders in recognition of their remarkable achievements, particularly for symbolic records, as a renewed expression of the progress made by mankind and technology.

Comment from Erica Ogawa, Representing the Japan Branch of Guinness World Records

Panasonic's EVOLTA battery did not stop by winning a single challenge, but continued to forge ahead with renewed effort. Against the constantly changing backdrop of today's world, it is not a simple feat to continually update a record in this manner. I believe that continuously claiming the No. 1 position is a feat made possible by the constant efforts and strong spirit of the Panasonic workforce. The Japan Branch of Guinness World Records takes pride in the ability of one of Japan's leading enterprises to maintain its world record in this auspicious 60th anniversary year of Guinness World Records. As such, I am extremely honored to present this 60th Anniversary Certificate. I hope that Panasonic will continue to make similar achievements in the future.

Many Guinness World Records Held by the EVOLTA Series

To prove the EVOLTA Series' long-lasting performance, a "Long-Lasting Power Demonstration Test" was held, which established a variety of Guinness World Records. In 2009, a robot powered by EVOLTA took the challenge of a 24-hour durability run, and a model car powered by EVOLTA was recognized by Guinness World Records** for the greatest distance by a radio-controlled model car on one set of batteries. In 2013, using only one dry cell battery, the world record*** was dramatically broken by completing a run on the longest plastic toy train track of approximately 5.6 km.

[Notes] * Guinness World Records (TM) is a registered trademark of Guinness World Records Limited. ** Greatest distance by a radio-controlled model car on one set of batteries *** Longest plastic toy train track certified on December 14, 2013. Record achieved: 5608.44 m
