Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, continued his inspection tour on Tuesday, where he inspected the activities and pavilions of the International Defense Exhibition IDEX 2015.

H.H Sheikh Saif toured the pavilion of the Ministry of Interior accompanied by Sudan’s President, Field Marshal Omar Al Bashir and briefed him on the next generation technologies and e-services used by the Ministry; including the e-ports projects and the Smart Civil Defense Centers’ system.

Furthermore, His Highness inaugurated the Security Support Patrol, called the “RAPTOR”, at the Ministry of Interior’s pavilion. The ‘Raptor’ is fitted with state-of-the-art equipment and technologies and advanced surveillance cameras; it is designed to provide security support to all patrols operating in the field and is adapted to various weather conditions and terrains. While examining the contents of the Raptor patrol, His Highness urged Security Support Patrol staff members to exert further efforts and harness all available resources to improve police and security work. Sheikh Saif also called on them to dedicate further attention to qualifying and training national cadres, boosting their competencies and developing equipment and devices used in security work.

His Highness Sheikh Saif also toured the various pavilions of the Unmanned Systems Exhibition UMEX, which is held in conjunction with IDEX. Sheikh Saif inspected the various products and sophisticated systems and technologies exhibited by the companies participating in this year’s exhibition. The exhibition represents a specialized professional platform for security and defense manufacturers to promote the latest developments and benefits of unmanned systems in the vital defense sectors. Moreover, HH toured the international companies’ and new exhibitors’ pavilions, and inspected the latest weapons and equipment in the field of defense and security that are displayed at the exhibition.

During the tour, HH Sheikh Saif was accompanied by Major General Dr. Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Colonel Saud Al Saadi, Director of the Secretariat of the Office of HH the Minister; and Colonel Khaled Al Shamesi, Chief of the Security Support Section; along with a number of police officers.
