During a Ceremony to Honor 93 Retired Officers

Major General Dr. Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, stressed that retirement is the beginning of a new life phase to advance giving efforts and better serve society and the country “This can be attained if the retiree knows how to fill his free time with useful things and put his expertise to good use, in a bid to remain an active and productive member of society, taking part in the country's development in various fields,” he said.
The Secretary General made these remarks during the ceremony organized by the Abu Dhabi Police on Wednesday at its headquarters in Abu Dhabi, to honor 93 retired officers. The ceremony was attended by Major General Khalil Dawood Badran, Director General of Finance and Services at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ and Head of the Retirees Honoring Committee; and Major General Mohammed bin Al Awadhi Al Menhali, Director General of Human Resources. In his address on the occasion, Major General Al Nuaimi said: “We are gathered here today to pay tribute to an elite group of retirees, whose tenure in the police force was brimming with giving and achievements. Their years of service were marked by dedication and by an unrelenting loyalty to the country and its wise leadership. We are here today to pay tribute to the values of loyalty and to acknowledge the efforts exerted by our colleagues in the service of the country and community, with whom we shared moments of challenges and successes.”
Major General Al Nuaimi stressed the keenness of the Abu Dhabi Police to constantly consult with the retires in order to avail of the professional expertise they have gained during their tenure in the police force, and to ensure they are provided with decent living conditions, worthy of their efforts in the service of the country in their youth. Moreover, Major General Al Nuaimi called on the honorees to pursue further efforts, and to invest their free time with purposeful social activities that require their abilities and the expertise they gained through their long years of service. “This would greatly benefit their families, their communities and their country, in a way that takes into account the changes of the times and keeps pace with the latest developments of life,” he added.
For their part, the honorees expressed their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for the kind gesture made by the Abu Dhabi Police, and voiced their pride in the achievements attained by the Ministry of Interior. Moreover, they reiterated their commitment to maintain the security and stability of the country, pledging to remain loyal to the service of their country and to enhance its dignity and poise in all means possible.
Towards the end of the ceremony, the Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior delivered certificates of appreciation and commemorative gifts to the honorees, in recognition of their efforts and their contribution to police work.
