The Punitive and Correctional Institutions Department at Abu Dhabi Police announced a new visitation schedule for inmates of Al Wathba, Al Ain, and the Juvenile Care Center sections, as well as the recently established Remand Section (for detainees).
Colonel Mohammed Saif Matar Al Zaabi, Head of the Punitive and Correctional Establishments Department at Abu Dhabi Police, noted that visiting hours for inmates in the four sections affiliated to the department have been amended, as of this year. This comes in line with Abu Dhabi Police’s keenness to upgrade the level of police services and provide the best of them for the benefit of customers at the Punitive and Correctional Institutions Department.
Colonel Al Zaabi indicated that visiting hours have been specified for inmates (female and male inmates) at the four sections, and are available seven days a week (morning and evening sessions); according to the different visitors and inmates categories, and types of cases. He noted that these schedules will be amended during the month of Ramadan and other official holidays, and will be announced later.
Moreover, Colonel Al Zaabi explained that the visit schedule for Al Wathba and Al Ain sections was determined as follows: Sunday will be assigned for members of the prosecution office (between 8 am and 2 pm); Monday and Tuesday will be assigned for female visitors (between 8 am and 1 pm) and between 3 pm and 5 pm; Wednesday will be assigned for diplomatic staff (between 8 am and 1:30 pm); Thursday is for lawyers and male visitors (between 8 am and 1:30 pm); non-Arab expatriate men can visit inmates on Friday and Saturday will be assigned for Arab expatriate men from 8 am till 1 pm and from 3 pm till 5 pm).
Adding further, Colonel Al Zaabi said that visiting hours for inmates at the Juveniles Care Center will be on Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays between 8 am and 2 pm and between 3 pm and 5 pm, except on Fridays where morning visiting hours end at noon (12 pm). He also indicated that Mondays will be dedicated for female visitors, Fridays for non-Arab male visitors, and Saturdays for Arab male visitors.
As for the Remand Section (detainees), Colonel Al Zaabi indicated that visiting hours have been assigned four days a week in the morning period as follows: Sunday will be assigned for members of the prosecution office and lawyers (between 8 am and 1 pm); Monday will be dedicated for female visitors (between 8 am and 1 pm); Tuesday for male visitors (between 8 am and 2:30 pm); while Wednesday will be assigned for diplomatic staff visitors (between 8 am and 1 pm).
