Children of the Abu Dhabi Police Nursery visited, Tuesday, the Emirates Park Zoo located in Al Bahya, Abu Dhabi. The visit is a part of the activities organized by the nursery to acquaint children with wildlife and the environment.
Captain Maryam Jassem Ali Said, Chief of the Abu Dhabi Police Nursery Section affiliated to the Clubs Department, indicated that the aims at acquainting children with the important concept of wildlife conservation, which would contribute to enhancing intrinsic social, moral and cultural values. She added: “The Zoo is a successful social project that offers so many incredible learning opportunities for children, and is an ideal place for children to get up close and interact with the environment and wildlife beyond books.”
She said: “The zoo was designed as a place of fun and learning for adults and children alike, as it provides visitors of all ages, especially children, with the opportunity to appreciate the natural environment and get closely connected to nature and wildlife.”
The children toured the zoo and were introduced to the different kinds of domestic and wild animals, as well as the various birds’ species. They also fed the giraffes and visited the “Ocean” park, which includes various types of ocean fish species and sea creatures.
