To Avoid Diseases: ADP Urge Public to Exercise

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Saturday, January 24th 2015 [ME NewsWire]

The Medical Services Department at the Abu Dhabi Police, called upon its staff and community members to practice brisk walking, for its great health benefits in preventing heart diseases, high blood pressure, diabetes and arteriosclerosis. People are urged to walk 30 to 60 minutes daily, 5 days a week, according to Medical Services Department.

These remarks will be included in the radio address that will be broadcasted live on Sunday by the Medical Services Department at the Abu Dhabi Police. It  falls under  the ’Security Glances’ Campaign organized by the Radio Branch at the Security Media Department, the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.

Captain Mohammed Rashid Al Mazroui, general physician from the Medical Services Department at the Abu Dhabi Police, said: “Exercise gives the body vitality and energy all day long, in addition to the much needed vitamin D that you get from exposing the skin to the sun, protecting your body against osteoporosis.”

Captain Al Mazroui added: “Exercise is a positive healthy behavior that will help improve lifestyle and build a healthy body. Brisk walking does not require big effort and is suitable for people of all ages, both children and adults. Having a better health yields a better mental health status and productivity, which in turn, improves the quality of life. We all seek good health and fitness; therefore we need to exercise, each based on their individual, physical capacities.”
