Major General Al Nuaimi Inaugurates the Family Security and Safety Forum at the Emirates Park Zoo

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Thursday, January 22nd 2015 [ME NewsWire]

On Wednesday, Major General Dr. Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, inaugurated the Family Security and Safety Forum at the Heritage Village at the Emirates Park Zoo in Abu Dhabi. The events of the forum will conclude tomorrow.   In his address regarding the occasion, Major General Al Nuaimi stressed the keenness of the police to provide great attention and care towards family and children. “The family is the cornerstone of the society, as it plays an important role in strengthening security, stability, and national gains,” he said.   Adding further, the Secretary General explained the important role that parents play in raising children, and urged them to listen to their children and to discuss everyday issues and concerns with them in order to help them to overcome the difficulties they may face. Moreover, he pointed out that by caring for the family and by fostering positive family dynamics, society as a whole will be built upon a safer and more secure foundation.   The opening ceremony was attended by Colonel Sheikh Mohammad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Director of Peripheral Regions Directorate at the Abu Dhabi Police; Colonel Ahmed bin Zeitoun Al Muhairi, Deputy Director of Peripheral Regions Directorate; and Lt. Colonel Mubarak Bin Muhairom, Head of Department of Community Police Department at the Abu Dhabi Police, along with a number of other officers, members of the public, parents, and students of various grades.

The ceremony held for the occasion commenced with a recitation of verses from the Holy Qur'an followed with a speech by Lieutenant Colonel Juma’a Obaid Al Rashedi, Director of the Al Rahba Comprehensive Police Station. Lieutenant Colonel Al Rashedi highlighted the role of the Abu Dhabi Police in providing security and stability to the community through collaborative and strategic partnerships with various community organizations.

Saeed Fadhel Al Mazrouei, Chief Operation Officer of the forum’s sponsor, Emirates Aluminium (EMAL), indicated that sponsoring the forum is in pursuance with EMAL’s vision to support these kinds of local initiatives that are included in the strategic plans of social responsibility.

It is noteworthy that an exhibition was held along the sidelines of the third edition of the forum with the participation of numerous bodies, institutions, and strategic partners of the Abu Dhabi Police. The Community Police and Social Support Departments took part in the exhibition through a pavilion dedicated to distributing awareness pamphlets and brochures that explain how to protect and preserve children through a cohesive family that enjoys security and stability.
