Emergency and Public Safety rescue teams at Abu Dhabi Police managed to contain a fire that broke out at a power plant in Al Muroor Street in Abu Dhabi. No injuries or casualties were reported in the incident.
Major Khaled Hassan Al Shehhi, Chief of the Rescue and Rapid Intervention Section said that the Operations Room had received notification about the outbreak of a fire at the power plant. Rescue teams from the Emergency and Public Safety Department were immediately rushed to the scene and efficiently managed to put out the blaze in less than an hour.
According to Major Al Shehhi, initial investigation into the circumstances of the incident revealed that an electric short-circuit sparked the fire that broke out at the power plant. Firefighters carried out cooling operations to extinguish the flames and managed to prevent the fire from spreading.
