ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Tuesday, December 30th 2014 [ME NewsWire]
The Abu Dhabi Police, represented by the Security Inspection Department (K9), called upon pet owners to make sure their pets are constantly groomed and clean especially during summer. The department indicated that careful hygiene protects pets and reduces infestation of external parasites on their skin such as ticks, which may cause serious and sometimes fatal illness to the pets.
These remarks will be part of a radio address that will be broadcast live tomorrow Wednesday. It falls within the framework of the ’Security Glances’ Campaign organized by the Radio Branch at the Security Media Department, the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
Colonel Jamal Habash, Head of the Security Inspection Department (K9), will urge pet owners to conduct periodic checkups for these animals at veterinary clinics to keep their pets healthy and avoid diseases that pets can spread to people.
