Major General Khalil Dawood Badran, Director General of Finance and Services at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ and Head of the Retirees Honoring Committee, stressed that the Abu Dhabi Police (ADP) is keen to take care of its retired staff members and leverage their expertise and abilities, as they have made great contributions towards various police initiatives.
The ADP honored a number of retired officers in appreciation and recognition for their effective voluntary participation in awareness-raising initiatives. The police also lauded their contributions toward spreading a culture of participation in the initiatives presented by the General Headquarters and for developing awareness for the importance of social responsibility.
Major General Badran said: “The Abu Dhabi Police are honoring a group of retired officers who have greatly contributed towards spreading the culture of participation, and their contributions have enhanced the outcomes of these initiatives. In line with the vision of Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, we strive to draw upon the professional and technical expertise the retired officers have gained during their tenure in the police force.” He further emphasized the keenness of the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ to enhance the participation of retired officers in all activities and to promote “building the bridges of direct and live communication with them”.
He pointed out the increase in the number of participants in the activities of the leadership, which includes the retired officers. “This gesture reflects the keenness of the ADP to enhance cooperation with different segments, which is to ultimately achieve more successful police campaigns that instill the values, concepts, and good behavior,” he said. Major General Badran said that the condition of this accolade awards those who have undertaken the responsibility to serve the nation, and is in recognition of their contributions of benevolence and development.
On behalf of ADP’s appreciation for the retired officers, Major General Badran presented the honorees with certificates of appreciation and gifts in recognition of their work and dedicated efforts.
On the same note, Brigadier General Ali Obeid Al Darmaki, Director of Personnel Department at Abu Dhabi Police, Rapporteur and Member of the Retirees Honoring Committee, lauded the role of the first generation of retired officers and non-commissioned officers. Brigadier General Al Darmaki praised their dedicated performance and fruitful cooperation, and stressed the keenness of the country’s leadership to keep them involved in various initiatives. “We recognize the importance of communicating with the retired officers, for their professional expertise has – and continues to be- a benefit to the service,” he said.
For his part, Major Sultan Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Manager of the Retirees Affairs Branch, said: “The branch is working around-the-clock to serve the retired officers as pursuant to the methodology of the ADP to provide opportunities for the retirees to participate in the activities and initiatives.” He continued by highlighting the importance of benefiting from the services of retirees who are considered a “treasure of knowledge” for their acquired knowledge during their tenure in the police force.
The honoring ceremony was attended by: Colonel Faisal Sultan Al Shuaibi, Head Director of Strategy and Performance Development; Lt. Colonel Hamad Abdulrahman Al Nuaimi, Head of the Higher Committees Department; and Major Bashar Khalil Badran, Deputy Director of the Human Resources Planning Department alongside a number of officers of the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ.
