The Operations Department at the General Directorate of Central Operations in the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ won the men’s bowling championship, and the Community Police Department won the women’s bowling championship. As a part of the 2014 sports activities program, the championship was organized by the Sports Activity Section at the Directorate General of Strategy and Performance Development, and held at the Abu Dhabi Police Officers Club.
For the men’s championship, the Government and Diplomatic Premises Protection Department placed second, and the Emergency and Public Safety Department placed third. In the individual category, the top ten winners were recognized.
For the women’s championship, the Licensing Department placed second, while the Police Schools Department placed third. The top ten female players were also recognized for the individual category.
During the ceremony, Captain Jamal Al Saadi, National Teams and Competitions Branch Manager at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, said: “This Abu Dhabi Police Bowling Championship for men and women requires good hand-eye coordination skills, and bowling increases both the physical and intellectual efficiency of the police members.”
