The Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters (GHQ) hosted an event under the slogan “Together for a Conscious Community”, in cooperation and coordination with government and social entities. The two-day event took place at Al Ikhlas Private School and featured a societal exhibition.
The event included police and community-based activities and shows, in addition to national songs performed by the Abu Dhabi Police Band which were highly praised by the students and the attendees.
The activities also featured an Abu Dhabi Police classic cars parade, as well as performances presented by the police dogs that inflamed the enthusiasm of the attendees. Moreover, the government and social entities from the Abu Dhabi peripheral regions participated with traditional folk arts and patriotic segments that contributed to instilling the concept of volunteerism.
The attending students were briefed on the duties carried out by a number of Abu Dhabi police Departments; notably the ambulances affiliated to the Emergency and Public Safety Department.
Major Abdullah Mubarak Al Harithi, Chief of the Community Police Affairs Section at the Community Police Department, stressed the importance of such programs in achieving the strategic goals of the Community Police. “These programs aim at promoting safety and stability of society, in pursuance of the Abu Dhabi Police’s Strategy to enhance communication and community partnership”, he said.
Adding further, he lauded the efforts of the co-sponsors, and their role in consolidating the culture of belonging to the nation; safeguarding the Arab and original customs and traditions; strengthening the components of its social fabric; boosting cultural and societal awareness; and promoting communication with young people.
For her part, Captain Huda Saeed, Manager of the Community Police Baniyas Branch, pointed out that organizing such community events and exhibitions helps achieving the overall societal development objectives, and boosting interaction and communication between the community institutions that seek to inculcate creativity among our children. The ‘Together for a Conscious Community’ event targeted several segments of society and interacted closely with them,” she noted.
Captain Huda reiterated the Abu Dhabi Police’s keen interest to organize such events regularly, through awareness programs targeting all segments of society, especially school students. Moreover, she noted that the Community Police join hands with the civil society organizations to promote the positive role of families and individuals, being the pillars of society. In conclusion, the Community Police Branch Manager expressed her heartfelt thanks to all residents, government entities and Al Ikhlas Private School for cooperating and contributing to the success of the event.
For his part, Hamdy Al Sabbagh, Principal of Al Ikhlas Private School, underscored the importance of social interaction and boosting trust between police and community members during the various occasions. Al Sabbagh praised the Abu Dhabi Police’s efforts to promote security and stability of society. Furthermore, he underlined the keenness of Al Ikhlas School to take part in the different national events and occasions in a bid to communicate with the public and reinforce relations with external partners and all segments of society.
The event was attended by officers and staff members from the Abu Dhabi Police; representatives of government and community entities; and members of the faculty and administrative body of Al Ikhlas Private School.
