Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates - Saturday, December 6th 2014 [ME NewsWire]
According to Brigadier Ghaith Hassan Al Zaabi, Director General, Traffic Coordination Directorate General at the Ministry of Interior, the number of traffic and licensing services provided by the ministry through smart phone applications has amounted to 13 services. These new services are launched under the slogan “One Application… Multiple Services” through the ministry’s UAE MOI application, and embody the UAE Smart Government initiative aimed at developing services and streamlining customers’ access to these services.
Brigadier Al Zaabi said that these services include eight procedural services, notably; renewing vehicle registration; replacing lost or damaged vehicle registration cards; postponing or advancing vehicle inspection date; paying fines; and reserving license plates. The other five services are interactive and include inspection date notifications; vehicle registration renewal date notifications; violations’ notifications; license plates reservation notifications; and driving license renewal notification.
Adding further, Brigadier Al Zaabi noted that the provision of these services via the MoI Smart Applications saves time and effort for citizens and residents alike, and enables them to obtain the required service without the hassle of visiting the various licensing departments. This measure aims at enhancing the Ministry of Interior’s service provision system to ensure the comfort and happiness of individuals, by enabling them to complete their transactions smoothly and easily.
The MoI called upon the public to communicate with the customer service center on 8005000 for any assistance, or communicate via email on mobile@moi.gov.ae or via the e-services e-mail eservices@moi.gov.ae.
It is worth mentioning that the MoI platform supports Apple, Android, BlackBerry, and Windows compatible smart phones. It connects users to a number of partners in the UAE, vehicle inspection and insurance companies and the Emirates Identity Company; as well as to the ministry’s website www.moi.gov.ae through the unified login mechanism (username and password) in order to obtain services from any channel of electronic communication. Users can register once using the single sign-in feature on the website or through smart phones, and gain access to all of the Ministry of Interior’s services.
The ministry is keen to keep pace with the latest developments in the realms of information technology and smart applications, in a bid to make all services accessible to customers. To this end, it has established a Smart Application center operated by a highly qualified team of Emirati citizens, to handle all electronic procedures pertaining to these services, and respond to customers’ inquiries.
