ADP Concludes the FanZone Activities on Abu Dhabi Corniche

The Public Praise the Modern Methods Used to Spread Awareness

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Monday, November 24th 2014 [ME NewsWire]

The Abu Dhabi Police (ADP) concluded the FanZone Entertainment events organized on the Abu Dhabi Corniche. The events were a part of the awareness campaign launched by the Security Media Department at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Interior with the slogan “The Road Has its Ethics and Speed Has its Track.”

Lieutenant Colonel Saeed Al Khajah, Deputy Director of Tactical Affairs and Security Media Department at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, said that the campaign was held within the framework of the activities for the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2014, and is in line with the keenness of the ADP to keep pace with event. He commended the cooperation of the media and the interaction of the audience with the activities and awareness programs which were conducted by the police in order to promote and spread traffic awareness through contemporary and community-friendly methods.

For his part, First Lieutenant Mubarak Hadef Al Khaili, Volunteers Branch Manager at the Community Police Department, explained that the FanZone activities embody the keenness of the ADP to spread awareness amongst the audience of all types, including UAE citizens, residents, and visitors. He noted that the Volunteers Branch Manager at the Community Police Department participated by distributing awareness brochures and answering the queries of the audience regarding traffic safety.

Visitors included citizens and residents from all walks of life, who expressed their admiration for the ADP awareness programs that were presented as a part of the FanZone events. They also praised the police efforts and commitment to acquaint them with the safety and security requirements, including traffic safety, domestic safety, and fire prevention – among others.  

Hamdan Ahmad Saleh, an Emirati student from Vision Private School, commended the FanZone programs and activities, as “excellent, exciting and suitable for children of all ages.” He added that he benefited greatly and enjoyed the rich program of educational and promotional activities, and received many gifts and booklets encouraging awareness about safety requirements. He additionally expressed his love and admiration for the police, who rely on modern and advanced standards to provide safety and security for all.

Saif Saeed Al Mazroui, Suhail Mubarak Al Mazroui, and Jassem Ali Al Mazroui, young Emirati citizens, confirmed that the ADP has always been at the heart of all major events. “The various  activities organized by ADP aim to boost the confidence and trust  of citizens and residents, while  the distinguished staff members of ADP are always at the beck and call to provide assistance and to respond to people’s needs- wherever they may be,” they said. They also pointed out that they have received useful brochures that enhance their traffic awareness and provide them with valuable general safety requirements.

Umm Saif, an employee at Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, said that this year’s events are varied and child-appropriate. She emphasized that the event has achieved its objectives through the pamphlets distributed by the organizers: “all of which have contributed to enhancing our awareness, and the awareness of our children as well.”

She also praised the prompt response of the highly qualified police officers and their respect and tact when dealing with members of the public. She also commended the awareness messages broadcast by the ADP, especially on its website. She pointed out that the police use modern and attractive means that are befitting for all segments of society.

Umm Shafa, an Emirati citizen, said that the ADP’s awareness activities are highly acclaimed and witness significant interaction from the various segments of society. She stressed the need to provide young people with guidance and awareness because they are the category with the highest rate of traffic violations - as they usually carry out dangerous and illegal practices such as “racing and show-off stunts”.

Emirati citizen Shafa Abdullah noted that such events contribute to enhancing the sense of security and safety among citizens, residents, and visitors alike. Rania Salem agreed by saying “the importance of increasing traffic awareness is to educate the public through several modern means that keep abreast of latest developments.”

Moreover, she praised the role of the Police Patrols in enhancing security and safety at any time and any place, and additionally commended their quick response times. Bassem Mahmoud and Fawaz Khodr Al Matar positively interacted with the various awareness activities provided by the ADP, which are designed to boost their knowledge and educate them on matters related to safety and traffic rules. They pointed out that ADP's efforts and their staff members’ ability to deal respectfully and professionally with community members have reinforced their sense of confidence and trust in the UAE, the haven of security and safety.
