The United Arab Emirates marked on Tuesday the 44th National Day of the sisterly Sultanate of Oman. The celebrations embody the brotherly relations and distinguished historical strong ties between the prominent people and leaders of both countries.
Emirati citizens expressed their overwhelming happiness for this auspicious occasion. Emirati passport control officers presented scarves with both countries’ flags to their Omani brothers travelling into the UAE through the country’s various border ports, as well as greeting cards bearing both countries emblems and congratulatory logos to mark Oman’s National Day. Demonstrations of UAE folklore performed by the Al Ayyalah folk bands; traditional arts, national songs and traditional poems were also presented at the UAE ports; spellbinding Omani travelers arriving to or departing from the UAE.
The UAE celebrations conveyed heartfelt feeling of appreciation and affection to the Omani people, particularly to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, Oman’s Sultan, who has led the development process in the Sultanate with professionalism and tact; dedicating significant attention to the Omani citizen, which he considered being the cornerstone and the moving force for progress at all levels. Under his wise leadership and farsightedness, the sisterly Sultanate of Oman has positioned itself among the world’s developed countries in the fields of education, culture, and urban development. The UAE-wide celebrations also reflect the deep-rooted mutual relations between the sisterly countries.
UAE touristic landmarks and citizens’ residences were draped with huge posters of Oman’s longtime ruler, as an expression of affection for the people and leadership of the sisterly Sultanate of Oman. Such gestures also embody the sincere brotherly ties between both countries.
Omani visitors praised the sincere and heartfelt gesture made by their Emirati counterparts. They stressed the keenness of both countries’ leaders to provide a role model to many on the unstinting efforts to strengthen brotherly bonds between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries towards achieving further cooperation, collaboration, cohesion and prosperity for all. Omanis also expressed their happiness at the warm welcome and hospitality they received from the Emirati people; which reflect a sincere keenness to maintain the solid historic relations and bonds between the two countries.
The UAE leaders expressed utmost felicitations and best wishes of abundant health and well-being to their Omani counterparts on this auspicious occasion. They posted congratulatory tweets that reflect their unique relations with their Omani brethren and demonstrate the high esteem for the sisterly Sultanate of Oman, which has always endeavored to build a modern and advanced country, on par with developed countries.

The border ports and cities across the country witnessed countless events marking Oman’s 44th National Day. Flags, scarves and brochures were distributed, including the poem penned by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. The Ayyala traditional folk bands performed folk dances and traditional songs that reflected the mutual heritage of the two sisterly countries.
The Al Madeef border port hosted the biggest celebrations for Emiratis and Omanis on this occasion. The Passports Section, the Ports and Customs Police, and the traditional Al Harbiya Band organized a huge ceremony and distributed badges, flags and brochures. The Emirati and Omani public also performed folklore dances of their respective countries; in the presence of Khamis Al Abdulsalam, Director General of Housing in Al Buraimi Governorate, who hailed the UAE efforts in hosting these celebrations.
Hamad Al Rasibi, Deputy Director General, and Sultan Al Yahaei, Supervisor of Client Service in Al Buraimi Governorate also attended the events; as well as the Oman TV crew, which presented a live broadcast of the ceremony and interviewed Emirati and Omani citizens, who expressed their joy on this precious occasion.
At Dubai Airport, Omani travelers arriving from Muscat received a warm welcome and were offered flowers, flags and scarves, as well as copies of the poem penned by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and a poster of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, Oman’s Sultan. The Al Ayyalah folk band presented traditional dances and performed national songs that inflamed enthusiasm and interaction between the two brotherly people.
Several events and activities marking the occasion also took place at Abu Dhabi Airport. The Al Ayyalah folk band performed national chants and offered flags, scarves and brochures to Omani travelers arriving to the UAE and to Emiratis as well.
At the Hatta border port crossing, the various events and activities were attended by an official Omani delegation headed by Lt. Colonel Abdullah AL Nuaimi, Director of the Al Wajaja Land Port in the Sultanate of Oman. Also attending were Colonel Hussein Ibrahim Ahmed, Assistant Director General of Land and Maritime Ports Affairs in the Sultanate of Oman, and Major Rashid Obaid Al Ketbi, Director of the Passports Control and Land Ports Department at the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai. The Al Ayyalah folk band presented popular dances and national songs, expressing the UAE people’s happiness on Oman’s National Day.
