ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Tuesday, November 11th 2014 [ME NewsWire]
The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has discussed preparations for the 43rd National Day alongside the suggested proposals for the activities and events to be hosted at the MoI in celebration of the cherished national occasion.
The coordination committee, headed by Colonel Hussein Mahmoud Al Awadhi, Acting Head of the Public Relations Department at the Ministry of Interior, reviewed the celebration program which includes: performances of national poems and songs, folklore soliloquys, a dedicated area to exhibit the traditional heritage of the UAE, interviews with senior figures who have witnessed the journey of the Union’s march and of the nation’s leader, the late H.H Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (may Allah rest his soul), in addition to a myriad of programs and competitions by the staff members of the ministry.
Colonel Al Awadhi explained that preparing for the celebrations of the National Day comes as a response to the directives of the police leadership in order to “mark this cherished occasion that is so dear to our hearts in a manner befitting the status and reputation of the MoI.”
“This year’s celebrations will be unique through the participation of representatives from the community of actors, athletes, and artists. The Emirates Scout Association and other governmental entities will also be participating in the celebrations, and will be promoting the concept of community partnership,” he said.
The meeting was attended by Major Yasser Issa Al Qteri, from the Public Relations Department at the Ministry of Interior; Saeed Salem Al Habsi, Deputy Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Scouts Association, and a number of other officers representing the MoI departments.
