“Premises Protection” Crowned Champion of the ADP Athletics Championship

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates - Friday, November 7th 2014 [ME NewsWire]

The Government and Diplomatic Premises Protection Department at the Directorate General of Guards and Special Tasks ranked first and was crowned champion of the Athletics Championship with 91 points. The Western Region Police Directorate ranked second while the Police Colleges Department ranked third with 45 and 44 points, respectively.

The two-day championship is part of the sports activities program, organized by the Sports Activity Section at the Directorate General of Strategy and Performance Development at Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters. A total of 10 departments from the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters took part in the championship, which was held at the race track of the Police College in its Abu Dhabi headquarters, and included road race, long jump, shot put, and javelin throw competitions.

Colonel Mohammed Hamid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Strategy and Performance Development Director General, the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, commended the high level of the championship and the outstanding performance of the players in the various competitions. Moreover, Colonel Al Dhaheri expressed his heartfelt appreciation for all who have contributed to the success of this Championship.

In the individual competitions, Maayouf Hassan and Mohammed Hassan from the Department of Government and Diplomatic Premises Protection ranked first and second in the road race competition, while Jum’a Al Ka’bi from the Information Technology Department finished third. In the 300-meter running race, Maayouf Hassan from the Department of Government and Diplomatic Premises Protection finished in first place. Mohammed Al Hassani from the Western Region Police Directorate came second and Mohammed Hassan from the Department of Government and Diplomatic Premises Protection came third.

Saud Al Zaabi from the Operations Department came first in the 800-meter running race, followed by Maayouf Hassan from the Department of Government and Diplomatic Premises Protection and Mohammed Al Hassani from the Western Region Police Directorate, who ranked second and third respectively

In the long jump competition, Mohammed Rashid from the Department of Government and Diplomatic Premises Protection came first, while Saeed Al Saadi from the Operations Department and Hamed Al Zaabi from the Department of Government and Diplomatic Premises Protection achieved second and third places respectively. Furthermore, Saber Salem and Ahmed Abdullah from the Department of Government and Diplomatic Premises Protection won the first and second places respectively, followed by Ibrahim Al Matrooshi from the Police College Department who finished third. In the Javelin throw competition, Ibrahim Al Matrooshi ranked first, while Saber Salem and Mohammed Rashid ranked second and third respectively.

The closing ceremony was attended by Captain Jamal Al Saadi, National Teams and Competitions Branch Manager at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ; and Captain Nasser Al Saadi, from the Office of the Director General of Central Operations.
