'Share My Knowledge' Initiative Launched at Naturalization and Residency Sector

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Wednesday, November 5th 2014 [ME NewsWire]

The Ministry of Interior has launched the “Share My Knowledge” initiative on the level of the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Sector in the UAE. The initiative comes as response to the request of Major General Dr. Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, to exchange, promote, and transfer knowledge amongst individuals. The initiative aims to benefit from the expertise of the previous leaders in various police work fields in order to serve the organizational excellence by improving occupational performance indicators. To launch the initiative, the Strategy and Performance Development Directorate at the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Sector organized an event.

During the launching event that was held at the Spirit of the Union Hall, at the Assistant Undersecretary for Naturalization, Residency and Port Affairs’ Office; Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Acting Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of the Interior for Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs, called upon the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Sector in the UAE to spread knowledge and to apply such knowledge gained in all fields of police work.

Major General Al Khaili said: “Teamwork, intimacy, and familiarity greatly contribute to advancing police work and positively affects employees.”  He referred to the distinctiveness of the UAE community for its noble traditions and customs - such as love and brotherhood among all individuals – and encouraged every person to preserve and transfer the genuine traditions of the Emirati community to future generations.

“We are working in a military institution that is characterized with military control and connections. A place where order and mutual respect prevail,” Major General Al Khaili added. “Knowledge transfer and application is something that can be realized during the meetings between leaders and their employees.” Additionally, he stressed that the MoI has tasks and functions to perform in order to maintain security and stability in accordance with its 2014-2016 strategy.

For his part, Brigadier Saeed Rakan Al Rashedi, Head of the Naturalization Department, discussed the UAE Citizenship Law; while Colonel Abdullah Ali Al Hosani reviewed the regulatory procedures for the entry and exit of foreigners.

Colonel Dr. Matar Al Shamesi, Head of Knowledge Management Team at the sector, asserted the importance of knowledge networking amongst the heads and members of any entity in order to fully utilize the knowledge and expertise in the creation of new knowledge. This falls within the framework of the leadership’s goal to support the principles of applying knowledge management concepts at the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Sector. Additionally, Lt. Colonel Tariq bin Rabee’a, from the Directorate General of Resources and Support Services, spoke about the prominent role of human resources in transferring knowledge.

At the conclusion of the event, the floor was opened for discussions and the lecturers answered the questions and queries of the attendees.
