ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Thursday, October 16th 2014 [ME NewsWire]
Major General Mohammed bin Al Awadhi Al Menhali, Director General of Human Resources in Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, viewed the Ministry of Interior’s (MoI) smart and security services and programs provided to the public at the MoI’s display in GITEX 2014, which concluded on Thursday.
During his tour of a number of booths at the exhibition, Major General Al Menhali reviewed the latest achievements showcased by the MoI and other participating ministries, local departments, and major companies. He stressed the importance of the participation in the GITEX exhibition for introducing the smart services that are used by the police, for learning about the latest technical developments in various fields, and for leveraging the expertise of the participating parties.
He expressed his satisfaction for the large-scale attendance and extensive participation of the MoI. He also praised the multiplicity of the software and services provided for the public as it represents the modern methods of communication between the police and community. He also celebrated the efforts of the staff at the booth.
“The participation of the ministry at the exhibition and the provision of new services form an excellent opportunity to introduce visitors to the projects, systems, and services provided by the ministry. It is also an opportunity to additionally gauge public opinion regarding the provided services and to utilize their comments and suggestions in order to further develop these services,” said Major General Al Menhali.
During the days of the exhibition, the MoI stand witnessed a high turn-out of officials, and national and international public figures and visitors. The booth also attracted many public viewers interested in the smart services, applications, and programs provided by the MoI. The wearable and self-service devices, smart towers, and school bus transportation safety programs were among the most notable exhibits of the MoI that had been viewed. During the GITEX technology week, the visitors closely examined the range of services provided by the ministry that reflect the major developments taking place in the digital world.
Throughout the exhibition, the MoI exhibit welcomed a number of officials including: Eissa Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Emirates Telecommunications Corporation (Etisalat); Mubarak Al Mansouri, Central Bank Governor; and Abdullah Salem Al Dhaheri, CEO of ADNOC. The visitors viewed the e-services that the MoI showcased including the wearable technologies such as the smart bracelet. The smart bracelet is one of the most important technologies for child protection in school transportation, as it enhances the students’ protection via modern technologies and represents a smart alternative for mobile phones. It utilizes all of the existing and ongoing sustainable developments in smart features and services, and complements the efforts exerted by the MoI- which recently launched multiple e-services as part of the framework to improve the services provided to customers.
Over 20 headquarters and directorates at the MoI showcased their smart services, initiatives, and e-services within the MoI exhibit. The visiting audience admired the quality of the services and solutions that the MoI provides for its customers. They also noted that launching and developing these services further confirm the keenness of the MoI to provide premium, fast, flexible, and innovative services via the latest technological methods.
