The Ministry of Interior, represented by the Sharjah Air Wing Section, concluded a training course on air ambulance and emergency airlift service from external roads. A total of 34 staff members from the Sharjah Police General Headquarters, the National Ambulance Company, and ‘SANID’ took part in the specialized training course.

Major Mohammed Al Hammadi and Major Tareq Matar Fairouz from the Ministry took part in presenting the program through theoretical and practical lectures to provide participants with the necessary skills to operate the vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) helicopters. It also included a practical training conducted on one of the external roads on how to deal with accidents, such as closing the road to traffic in order to arrange an improvised landing site for the emergency helicopter, as well as training on the means to tend to the injured and how to transport them into the air ambulance.

It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Interior is keen to provide humanitarian aid to patients and injured people from various nationalities, by airlifting them between hospitals, and performing the necessary medical care and first aid by the paramedics available on board of the helicopter to patients and injured during the flight to and from the hospital. This approach falls within the framework of the UAE government’s commitment to provide high-quality living for the Emirati society and embodies the MoI’s strategy in providing excellent  services that are in accordance with the best international standards, to enhance public confidence and customer satisfaction with the provided services.
