Organized by the General Headquarters of Abu Dhabi Police, the Pan Medical Conference will kick off next Thursday in Abu Dhabi. The conference is held under the patronage of Lt. General His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. The conference will witness broad local and international participation by 70 doctors and specialists from the UAE and other countries.
The conference will discuss women’s health and how to improve protection from internal, gynecological, obstetrical and dermal diseases, as well as improving healthcare for women at different age stages. The conference includes three conferences on gynecology and obstetrics, internal medicine, and dermatology, to exchange expertise and learn about the latest developments regarding women’s health and clinical practices, and discussing the latest scientific concepts in medicine, and using them in treating patients.
Colonel Jassim Al Tunaiji, Director of Medical Services Department of Abu Dhabi Police considered the conference as a distinguished medical event in the field of women’s health that strengthens the efforts of the UAE in providing health care to women according to international standards, and strengthens cooperation with international health institutions and organizations that are concerned with women’s health.
The conference aims at improving protection and spreading awareness about internal diseases, diabetes, obesity, heart disease, gynecological diseases, cancer, infertility, and dermal diseases in a way that helps raise the levels of healthcare to women.
Lt. Colonel Dr. Najala’ Asaad Taher, Chairman of the Conference and Specialist Dermatologist at the Medical Services Department of Abu Dhabi Police, mentioned the reasons behind organizing the conference, that is the concern of the UAE in the health and safety of women “mothers and caretakers,” who effectively and significantly contribute to building the society, as they form half of the society. She referred to the support that the police command offers to the Medical Services Department by improving the services it provides to the Ministry of Interior personnel, and cooperating with the medical sector to help develop medical care to all, nationwide.
The conference will include specialized workshops to tackle medical topics including: lung functions, reading electrocardiogram, hysteroscopy, face beautification with botox and filler injection, and the use of modern devices in beautifying skin defects, in addition to open discussion sessions with international experts and speakers. A medical exhibition which features the latest technology and medical drugs will be held as well.
And for the first time, 70 hours of continuous medical education have been accredited for all the medical paths during the three days of the conference. This is considered a precedent, where those hours are essential for the whole medical staff working in the UAE to renew the medical licenses.
A press conference will be held on the sidelines of the Pan Medical Conference. The following speakers will speak according to their specialty: Dr. Najla Asaad, for Dermatology; Dr. Hussein Abduldaiem for Dermatology and Venereal Diseases in Al Nour Hospital; Dr. Zuhair Al fardan Cosmetics and Reconstruction surgical consultant at Al Tawam hospital in Al Ain; Dr. Sabin Zancher specialist in Dermatology and cosmetics in Germany on an international scale, and a clinical researcher in the field of dermatology and cosmetics; Prof. Khaled Assaf, specialist in skin cancer and head of dermatology in HELIOS Klinikum Krefeld, an academic teaching hospital in Dusseldorf/Germany; and Prof. Steven Morris, professor of surgery and autopsy at Dalhousie University.
And at the Internal Medicine conference the following speakers will be present: Dr. Hanan Al Jaghami, internal medicine specialist, head of internal medicine division at the Abu Dhabi Police Medical Services; Dr. Reem Al Muhairi, family medicine specialist at the Abu Dhabi Police Medical Services; Dr. Hussein Al Saadi, Asst. Prof. at Cleveland clinic in Abu Dhabi, internal medicine and endocrinology specialist, head of the medical specialties department; Dr. Roland Asmar, from France, Cardio Vascular Diseases specialist and head of the medical research institution; and Prof. Ibrahim Al Salati – AUB, Head of Endocrinology.
As for the field of Gynecology the following speakers will speak according to their specialty as well: Dr. Rashida Abbas Obstetrics and Gynecology consultant at the Abu Dhabi Police Medical Services; Dr. Bashir Saleh Internal Gynecology Consultant at Al Kornish hospital; Prof. Muhiddin Saud from AUB and Head of the Cancer Institute in Beirut; Prof. Hussein Shehata, Ambassador of the Royal British Academy for Gynecology in the GCC; and Prof. Albert Useby – Asst. Director of the Embryonic research, Fellow member in medical research in Canada, and an assistant at the Embryonic research center.
