Success for Al Falak, Hewlett Packard and FEDEX at Dubai Internet City’s Second Annual Football League

Dubai Internet City, the Middle East and North Africa’s largest ICT hub, recently hosted its second annual Football League following a successful inaugural league in 2013.

The tournament saw 24 teams take to the field for an exciting 2-day competition, which took place at Ahdaaf Sports Club, Dubai, from 19th – 20th September 2014. Competing teams included industry leaders such as IDC, Western Union, Cisco, HP, General Electric, Visa, Oracle, Hewlett Packard, and 3M.

The league consisted of 5 competitive knock-out rounds, cheered on by more than 500 supporters, with Al Falak, HP, and FEDEX, claiming first, second, and third place respectively. Awards for the winning teams, as well as other awards including Best Goalkeeper and Top Scorer were presented to teams and individuals by Ammar Malik, Director of Business Development, Dubai Internet City and Dubai Outsource Zone at the end of the second day, with prizes generously provided by 3M Futuro (TM), Canon Middle East, and Souq.com.
