ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Sunday, September 21st 2014

The Abu Dhabi Police Medical Services Department confirmed that the Comprehensive Medical Conference, which will be held in the next month, combines the expertise of local and international doctors. The Conference will contribute to the improvement of medical care for women and open new horizons in the fields of medical cooperation in the promotion and enhancement of women’s health. The Conference will focus on the prevention of internal, gynecological, and obstetric, and skin diseases; and also on the provision of optimum healthcare for women of all ages.

During the conference, organized by the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters (GHQ), the participants will review the most recent medical developments, clinical practices, and real-life case studies in relation to women’s healthcare. Based on medical evidence, the professional and skilled doctors will diagnose each case and discuss the scientific concepts of modern medicine and its implementation.

Colonel Jassim Al Tunaiji, Head of the Medical Services Department, explained that the medical conferences that the Ministry of Interior (MoI) organizes have the ultimate support and interest of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, as these conferences help to promote the services of the UAE’s medical sector. Colonel Al Tunaiji said, “The Comprehensive Medical Conference supports the efforts of the MoI in the application of health care standards and preservation of the gains made in the development of these service systems; such as their integration with the treatment of patients, the provision of medicine, and the expansion of medical specialties. The department is committed to being a leader in health care for patients, to improve the performance indicators of medical competencies, and to exchange medical services on an international level.”

Lt. Colonel Dr. Najala’ Asaad Taher, Chairman of the Conference and Specialist Dermatologist at the Medical Services Department of Abu Dhabi Police, explained that the Conference helps improve individual healthcare. “The Conference fosters the efforts of the UAE in the medical sector in general, and highlights the police’s role and contributions in serving the society. The Conference will also create new prospects of cooperation in the healthcare sector at the local and international levels,” she said.

Lt. Colonel Dr. Taher said, “The widespread international participation will enrich the discussions and the general work utilized to improve women’s health. Of the 70 speakers, 23 are from the UAE and the remaining represent the USA, UK, Canada, France, Germany, KSA, Jordan, Egypt, and Lebanon. The conference will also feature three sub-conferences: internal, gynecological and obstetric, and skin diseases.”

The Conference targets general practitioners, family medicine doctors, gynecologists, dermatologists, internal doctors, surgeons, endocrinologists, nursing providers, and male and female students in health and healthcare. The activities of the Conference will include workshops, lectures, and discussion sessions. The Conference will focus on the implementation of the best international practices, will strengthen awareness, and will subsequently improve public health as part of the society-oriented health programs.

Citizen doctors of the UAE mentioned that this major medical gathering, hosted in Abu Dhabi, enhances their expertise through the beneficial exchanges with the 47 participants from outside of the county. Major Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Raisi, Dental Clinics Branch Manager at the Medical Services Department of Abu Dhabi Police, said “The experience exchange with international doctors increases the efficiency of medical participants, and supports the efforts of the medical services at ADP in spreading the culture of women’s health – which has received much care and attention from the medical sector institutions in the UAE.”

Major Dr. Ayman Jumeian Suleiman, Chief of the Medical Services Section in Al Ain, said, “It is necessary to view the experiences of others in the medical sector at the international level. This is something that is addressed in the Conference- which is a real opportunity to exchange experiences and to learn about the latest medical devices and inventions used by the developed countries. This is a great opportunity to gain more skills and improve the levels of efficiency and competence on a local level.”

Dr. Reem Al Muhairi, General Practitioner at the Medical Services Department, said, “The Conference is an opportunity to link the therapeutic developments and to exchange knowledge and skills with international doctors. The leadership of the Medical Services Department of Abu Dhabi Police in the medical sector has made great achievements in the medical services that are provided to the MoI staff and their families; and they have been active participants in medical conferences at the local, international, and regional levels. In the Conference, the topic of women’s health will be the center of discussion, which gives a good impression about the development of the UAE in its provision of medical care and attention in order to preserve the health and safety of women.”
