ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Monday, July 14th 2014 [ME NewsWire]
In the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan and in collaboration with The UAE Red Crescent, the Emirates Women Police Association launched a fund raising campaign for Syrian refugees. This campaign aims to collect copies of the Holy Quran, clothing and prayer mats.
Major Amina Mohamed Khamis Al Baloushi, Chairperson of the Emirates Women Police Association and Regional Director for Women Police in The Middle East Region said: “This campaign encompasses the whole country and coincides with the Holy Month of Ramadan. It has the objective to help Syrian refugees in the UAE camp in Jordan and represents the UAE`s tendency to support others.”
Al Baloushi pointed that a delegation from the association had visited earlier Syrian refugees’ camps and identified their needs. “The members are now collaborating to meet these needs,” Al Baloushi mentioned. She added: “The Emirates Women Police Association is a major contributor with the UAE Red Crescent in all initiatives and functions launched within the country and abroad.”
