The United Arab Emirates participated in the third meeting of the Presidents of GCC Police Sports Unions that was held at the General Secretariat in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and concluded yesterday (Wednesday).
The UAE delegation to the meeting was headed by Major General Mohammed Khalfan Matar Al Rumaithi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police and President of the Police Sports Union at Abu Dhabi Police.
Participants in the meeting discussed the issue of setting a date for the GCC Police Olympic Championship, which will be held in Kuwait; in addition to a number of issues, notably hooliganism and stadium riots and the best way to handle such cases, as well as ways to increase fitness among the GCC policemen.
Major General Al Rumaithi expressed his pleasure to participate in the meeting and extended his thanks to the officials at the Saudi Ministry of Interior and the Saudi Sports Federation of the Internal Security Forces for the warm welcome and hospitability. He also praised the outcomes reached by the meeting that benefit the interest of police staff members at the GCC countries.
It is worth mentioning that the Emirati delegation participating in the meeting included Major General Mohammed Saeed Al Marri, Deputy President of the Police Sports Union; Brigadier Saleh Saeed Al Matroushi; Brigadier Ghanem Ahmed Al Ali, member of the Police Sports Union Board of Directors; Colonel Mohammed Hamid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Secretary General of the Police Sports Union; Lieutenant Colonel Pilot Jamal Issa Al Matroushi, from Sharjah’s Air Wing Section at the Ministry of Interior.
