Dubai Design District (d3), TECOM Investments’ latest design and fashion project, recently welcomed Catherine Thomas into its organization as Executive Director, Marketing and Communication.
Catherine brings over 20 years of marketing and communications experience gained within the luxury, premium and high street fashion, retail and real estate sectors. Catherine has worked in the real estate development sector since 2006, most recently as Head of Marketing with Land Securities, the UK's largest property company and the world’s 8th largest Real Estate Investment Trust. In this role, Catherine led the Marketing and Communications effort to support the successful regeneration of Victoria in London and, most notably, Land Securities’ sizeable £2.2bn investment in the project. Catherine and her team contributed significantly to the sales and leasing of commercial, retail and luxury residential products, alongside the development an innovative public arts program.
Before moving into Real Estate, Catherine was Commercial Director for renowned British fashion designer Maria Grachvogel, supporting the international expansion of the brand and e-commerce platform launch. Prior to this, as Marketing Director for British fashion house the Jaeger Group, Catherine worked closely with CEO Belinda Earl in a critical brand rejuvenation and repositioning program to increase relevance and cement the brand’s luxury credentials, resulting in a positive turnaround for company profit margins. Catherine started her career with Debenhams in the UK where she spent over 8 years in Marketing, PR and Communications roles within the group, during which time as Head of PR Catherine spearheaded the campaign for the pioneering ‘Designers at Debenhams’ commercial collaboration, which brought previously inaccessible big-name designers to the high street.

In her new role as the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications for d3, Catherine is responsible for developing and executing the overall marketing strategy, building strong brand awareness and increased brand value, whilst managing all aspects of PR, Communications, and developing and managing high profile international and local events.
