Al Sha’far Urges Leadership Courses’ Officers to Keep Abreast of Developments

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Thursday, June 12th 2014 [ME NewsWire]

Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior, called upon officers that are attending the Senior Leadership Course No. 74 and the Intermediate Leadership Course No. 52 to enhance their knowledge and skills by acquiring further modern scientific education and keeping abreast of new developments witnessed by the country as it forges ahead towards overall development, so as to face the different forms and types of security challenges. The courses are organized by the Officers Training Institute at the Police College.   These remarks were made by the Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior during an educational lecture he gave at Al Etihad Hall, as part of the Institute’s program. In his lecture, Lt. General Al Sha’far showcased his practical experiences in police and security work, which spanned more than forty years. He specifically focused on some of the situations he encountered over the history of police force establishment in the country. Moreover, he praised the considerable achievements that the UAE has accomplished thanks to the support, care and attention of the leaderships, which earned the UAE a prestigious stature on the international scene and allowed it to obtain prominent international awards in government excellence, quality of service, human development and others on par with developed countries.

Lt. General Al Sha’far also stressed the keenness of the Ministry of Interior, under the wise leadership of by Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, to support police staff members with a view to safeguarding the country’s gains and excellence.

For his part, Colonel Saif Al Ketbi, Police College Director, emphasized that the police leaderships’ experiences in police and security work, contribute to honing police officers’ personality and skills to handle different situations. He also stressed the need to keep pace with modern sciences in order to enhance the human resources.

The lecture was attended by heads of departments, chiefs of sections, a number of officers and the officers of the Officers Training Institute.
