Sharjah Air Wing Section Qualifies 42 SANID Trainees on How to Operate Helicopters

The Sharjah Air Wing Section celebrated the graduation of 42 trainees from the National Emergency Response Program ‘SANID’ after completing a course on "How to operate a VTOL Helicopter". The course was organized by the Training Branch at the Sharjah Air Wing Section.

Colonel Pilot Abdullah Salem Al Theeb, Chief of the Sharjah Air Wing Section, noted that this course was designed to provide participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to operate the vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) helicopters safely as part of the efforts to preserve the safety of people and property.

He added: "Participants in this course received information on the proper way to operate VTOL helicopters, how to arrange an improvised landing site on external roads, manage crowds and helicopters’ ground handling (marshalling). They were also provided with theoretical and practical applications to acquaint them with the proper behavior and action to be undertaken when approaching a helicopter, the required precautions and security and safety procedures."

At the end of the ceremony, Colonel Pilot Abdullah Salem Al Theeb praised the efforts of participants in this course and commended their positive interaction with lecturers and trainers. He then distributed certificates to the graduates and honored the training officers who contributed to the success of the course: Major Mohammed Ahmed Al Hammadi and Major Tareq Matar Fairouz.
