General Dang Van Hieu, Deputy Minister of Public Security of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the accompanying delegation, currently on an official visit to the country, reviewed the UAE’s experience in issuing E-passports. They were briefed on the various procedures related to the printing and issuance of the e-passports, notably the required issuance time, the various stages of the process, the devices and equipment used in the printing operation, and the average daily printing of e-passports.
The guest Deputy Minister of Public Security of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the accompanying delegation had recently visited the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs’ Headquarters in Abu Dhabi. They were greeted by Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Acting Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of the Interior for Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs, along with the Directors-General at the sector.
During the meeting, both parties discussed means to enhance cooperation and coordination, exchange experiences and expertise and review the adopted systems in the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs operations. Other issues of mutual interest for both countries were also discussed during the meeting.
The meeting was attended by Brigadier Ghareeb Mohammed Al Hosani, Director General of the Ports and Airports Security Department; Brigadier Saeed Rakan Al Rashedi, Head of Naturalization Department; Colonel Dr. Abdullah Abdurrahman bin Sultan, Head of Strategy and Performance Development Department at the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs sector; along with the delegation members and the Vietnamese Ambassador to the UAE.
Colonel Abdullah bin Sultan briefed the delegation on the Ministry of Interior’s strategy and the organizational administrative structure of the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs sector and General Directorates at the countrywide level; their missions, duties, services and distinguished facilities they provide to the public.
Moreover, the delegation toured the electronic passport follow-up section, where they were briefed on the workflow at the section and examined the modern and advanced devices and equipment used for printing and issuing E-passports.
At the end of the visit, both sides exchanged commemorative gifts.
