The Ministry of Interior discussed plans to develop an innovation strategy and policy that aligns with the Ministry of Interior’s strategy 2014-2016. Discussions took place during a specialized workshop recently held at the Gulf Centre for Aviation Studies (GCAS), under the auspices of the Directorate General of Strategy and Performance Development; represented by the Complaints and Suggestions Department.
The workshop was inaugurated by Colonel Mohammed Hamid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Strategy and Performance Development Director General, the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. Colonel Al Dhaheri stressed the Ministry’s keenness to involve internal and external partners in updating and reviewing the innovation strategy and policy in order to meet their expectations and aspirations and contribute to achieve the vision and mission of the Ministry of Interior.
For his part, Major Mohammed Ismail Al Harmoudi, Head of Complaints and Suggestions Department at the Directorate General of Strategy and Performance Development, explained the creativity and innovation strategy for 2011 and reviewed reports on major initiatives and inputs that will be used to develop the innovation strategy 2014-2016.
Captain Mohammed Salem Al Khateri, Chief of the Strategic Planning and Development Section at the Directorate General of Strategy and Performance Development, the Ministry of Interior, gave a presentation about the strategic planning methodology and the means to prepare and update the strategic plan of the Ministry of Interior, which includes the ministry’s vision, mission, values and seven strategic goals. Captain Al Khateri also explained the environmental analysis.
Furthermore, Lieutenant Elham Mohammad Al Muaini, the Innovation Branch Manager, reviewed the creativity and innovation policy at the Ministry of Interior, the means to implementing it and its most important goals.
Towards the end of the workshop, a survey was conducted to obtain attendees’ feedback with respect to the innovation policy and strategy, and the means to developing operational initiatives to implement the strategy.
The workshop was attended by a number of staff members from the Ministry of Interior, officers, civilians, as well as creativity and suggestions coordinators from all sectors of the ministry.
