Saif bin Zayed Attends the Third Group Wedding for People with Special Needs

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Friday, May 16th 2014 [ME NewsWire]

Lieutenant General H.H Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior attended this evening the third group wedding of people with special needs. The wedding is organized by the Ministry of Interior’s Centers for Rehabilitation and Employment of people with special needs at Zakher Wedding Hall in Al Ain.

H.H Sheikh Saif bin Zayed expressed his great happiness and pride of the new Emirati families who joined the wider Emirati community. His Highness also valued the participation and sponsoring of both governmental and private sectors reflecting the importance of the social responsibility, which the UAE leaders are highly committed to; led by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; his brother His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; and General H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

H.H Sheikh Saif bin Zayed also met the grooms and congratulated them on this happy day and prayed for God to grant them the good posterity. Also, H.H Sheikh Saif honored the sponsors and supporters while discussing the ideas and suggestions which strengthen such a great national initiative, especially those targeting the people with special needs that deserve everyone's support and gratitude.

Major General Mohammed Khalfan Al Rumaithi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police; Nasser bin Aziz Al Shareefi, director of the Ministry of Interior’s Centers for Rehabilitation and Employment of people with special needs; and representatives of the sponsors and supporters, in addition to the grooms families, all attended the wedding.

The diamond and gold sponsors were honored, namely Khalifa Faraj bin Hamoodah, Member of the Board of Directors at Bin Hamoodah; Ahmad Al Matroushi, Managing Director at Emaar; Faisal Abdullah, CEO of Institutional Support of Dubai Media Incorporated; Sami Al Reyami, Editor-in-Chief at Emarat Al Youm newspaper; Ahmed Salem Al Dhaheri, Chief Commercial Officer at Emirates Steel; and Zayed Al Shoaibi, representative of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC).

For his part, Nasser bin Aziz Al Shareefi, director of the Ministry of Interior’s Centers for Rehabilitation and Employment of people with special needs, said that the MoI has become a role model for supporting the people with special needs. He also emphasized the leaders’ commitment to support and develop the people with special needs by providing training, rehabilitation and jobs opportunities, allowing them to raise their families.

Al Shareefi extended his gratitude to the sponsoring companies and entities that helped in making this major humanitarian event a success.

Group Wedding Figures

Nasser bin Aziz Al Shareefi, director of the Ministry of Interior’s Centers for Rehabilitation and Employment of people with special needs, said that the Centers have celebrated the first group wedding in 2007 for 20 persons with special needs. In 2011, the second wedding was organized for another group of 20 persons. And the third group wedding this year is organized for 11 persons, bringing the total number of grooms up to 51.
